1 Position Description Implementation Consultant Team: Job Family: Master Terminal Implementation Team Client Analysis Level: 4 Reports to: Global Services Director Vision Our vision is to be recognised as a leading global product innovator Mission Our mission is to design and deliver ingenious solutions Purpose of Position The core purpose of the Implementation Consultant is to provide software application consultancy, primarily to customers during an implementation project. Consultancy services include both tasks performed onsite with the customer and offsite at the office. Core tasks include analysis of customer operational processes, configuring Master Terminal, Super User training and taking the Customer through the switch over to Go Live on Master Terminal. Alongside this there is specification and project documentation to write and convey to customers. The Implementation Consultant will also work alongside internal parties (e.g. Project Manager, The Innovation Programme, Development Managers, Business Analysts and Business Managers and any other relevant staff) to deliver consulting services. The Implementation Consultant s core responsibilities are outlined below. Key Strategic Responsibilities Consulting on use of the Master Terminal application To provide advice on the best use of the Master Terminal application by way of process analysis and understanding the current and desired future states (as represented by the Master Terminal system). Requirements Analysis To analyze user requirements and to provide advice on how the Master Terminal product can be used to meet user requirements and where gaps exist and how they may be P a g e 2
3 catered for either by change of process of system customisation. In the case of additional functionality being required the Implementation Consultant will be expected to produce a comprehensive user case document clearly detailing the user s requirements. Role and responsibility analysis To create the matrix for roles required in the system and security for each of these roles. Assisting the customer on the change journey for these users roles, as their role may change with the implementation Implementation To drive the implementation of the Master Terminal application. This will involve configuring and tuning the software, training users and providing support to the customer during acceptance testing, through Go Live and post Go Live until handover to support. Support To provide some first level remote and on-site support on the use of Master Terminal to customers within the terms of any contractual agreements. Pre-Sales Engagement To assist Jade Business Managers and Jade Resellers with presales activities such as high-level gap analysis and product demonstrations as directed from time to time. Documentation To create specification documentation on behalf of customers where system customisation is required. Assist the Project Manager in creation and review of project documentation. Accountabilities Delivering a workable Master Terminal solution for the client so they can run the ir business effectively Customer satisfaction Time recording to account for all available time and to ensure that customers are invoiced for chargeable activities To advise your Manager of any relationship issues that may become apparent during interaction with customers To advise the development team of any product problems identified To work with the Innovation Programme to identify enhancements to the application. Act as liaison and interface between customers and the development team. Develop and/or conduct formal training programs including necessary materials. P a g e 3
4 Person Specification The person filling this role must demonstrate the following attributes: Education Bachelors degree with a focus on instructional design/delivery, technical training, education, computer science or information systems Previous Experience Minimum of 3 years experience in the Ports/Terminal Management sector, or 5 years in a wider supply chain role Experience as a super-user or implementation consultant of a Terminal Operating System is optimal, however experience in delivering or using ERP systems or high volume real time transaction systems is required Proven ability to translate customer requests into written specifications. Proven ability to train users on software applications, and delivered a train the trainer training package Ability to map processes and have worked in a large process mapping project Understanding of organisational change management and worked within a large change management project Technical Skills Strong understanding of business fundamentals and reporting requirements, especially in relation to container and general cargo terminal operations is preferable. However wider supply chain knowledge of shipping lines, warehouses and logistics firms is required Understand functional and technical aspects of applications to contribute to the application implementation process including requirements gathering, system configuration, training, testing and deployment. Ability to utilise Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Microsoft Project and Visio to a high degree of efficiency Ability with a process mapping tool such as Visio, Promapp or Xsol Ability to use other specific learning and education software as appropriate Personality Traits/Competencies Ability to travel domestically and overseas for periods of time Flexible attitude to working in a global company to work around the impracticalities of timezones P a g e 4
