1 JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Responsible to: Objective: Relief Driver/Sorter Stock Facility Manager To support the stock management and logistics process in order to maximize all income streams. MAIN DUTIES: 1. The distribution of stock from shop to shop following guidance as set out in the stock management process. 2. The return of unwanted items and waste to the stock facility. 3. The distribution of stock from the stock facility to shops. Monitoring and recording accurate records of stock stored. Supplying the Stock Facility Manager with daily/weekly records of stock holding and movements to ensure correct records are kept. 4. The distribution of any item as detailed by the Head of Income Generation Operations or Stock Facility Manager. 5. Take responsibility for the safe storage of stock at the stock facility, ensuring storage spaces are kept clean, tidy and operational at all times. 6. Collect from any location as specified by the Retail Operations/Stock Facility Manager in line with House Collection procedures. 7. Maintain good customer service relationships with all shop managers, deputies, donors and customers to deliver the stock management process. June 2018 Page 1 of 5
2 8. Ensure weekly van log checks are done on all vehicles to the supply Stock Facility Manager with accurate paperwork for logs, reporting all problems as soon as they arise. 9. Take responsibility and ownership for Drivers Mate to ensure their safety and conduct in carrying out their duties. 10. Ensure the stock or load on the van is to carry/transport and complies with all guidelines. 11. Pre-book all service and MOT s etc for vans and keep up to date records of such. Stock Facility Manager with all necessary paperwork. 12. Maintain and clean the van on a regular basis. 13. Organise and implement stock collections from door to door when tactically used to support initiatives. 14. Liaise directly with the Stock Facility Manager regarding holidays/sickness to ensure effective cover of the Logistics team to meet business needs. 15. Actively participate in new shop openings and shop refits as required e.g. deliver relevant stock for openings, uplift shop fixtures and fittings from suppliers and deliver to shops. 16. Actively support Acorns events as required delivering equipment and stock. 17. Actively support good communication practices within your work and promote and maintain good teamwork. 18. Be aware of and comply with the rules relating to shop operations as detailed in the Retail Operations Manual. 19. To act as an ambassador for Acorns raising awareness of its charitable aims and objectives and enhancing its reputation through exemplary behaviour, conduct and team working. 20. To put the needs and interests of Acorns children and young people and their families first in all aspects of their work. 21. To ensure compliance with Acorns policies for diversity, employment, equal opportunities, health and safety, information governance and safeguarding. June 2018 Page 2 of 5
3 22. To actively participate in an annual Individual Performance Review and any training and development identified to further enhance your role with Acorns. 23. 5 TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT POSITION: Relief Driver/Sorter REPORTING TO: Stock Facility Manager LOCATION: Mucklow Hill SALARY: 8.55 per hour HOURS: Zero hour contract HOLIDAYS: Commensurate with hours worked NB. No other terms and conditions apply as relief staff are not employed by Acorns, but from time to time we may call upon you to work for us to cover short term requirements.
