1 Warehouse Operative Apprentice Picker Oakland International Limited o Brief overview of the role To carry out warehouse duties following all relevant company procedures and adhering to company policies. As this is an apprentice post the job holder may be required to work in various areas throughout the warehouse to develop skills, knowledge and experience in all aspects of warehousing & storage. Closing date 31 May 2018 Apprenticeship summary Working week Shifts vary; working 5 days out of 7 (Monday to Sunday) for 8 hours per day with 1 hour lunch. Shits can include 6am-3pm or 3pm - 1am other shifts available. 2 Key Tasks / Responsibilities: Principle Accountabilities & Objectives Order picking using the correct procedures. Ensure correct dress code (PPE) is worn at all times. Follow clean as you go policy so housekeeping is kept to the required standards. Report any Health and Safety issues to supervisor/manager. Ensure all consolidated pallets are correct height and in safe condition. All pallets are consolidated to their maximum. To work at management discretion when required. Operate to high moral, personal and appearance standards. Maintain personal discipline, time keeping and morale. Complete all educational and training as required throughout the apprenticeship period. To sign a learning contract with the training provider and adhere to the agreement. Information Management Ensure information is recorded correctly on daily sheets and highlight any issues to supervisor/manager paying particular attention to daily stock check sheets. Communicate with your supervisor/manager daily to ensure you understand targets and schedules. Liaise with stock controllers and booking in staff with regards to stock movement. Skills/Knowledge and Qualifications Trained on all relevant equipment within chilled warehouse. The ability to communicate with people within your area and other areas of the business. 4. Current warehouse picking experience preferably on scanner. Numerate and literate. Personal qualities Self motivated. Good team player. Flexibility. Desired qualifications MHE licences beneficial. Future prospects Wage to increase to 5.50per hour after successful 3 month probation period.
