157 1 Reach To make sure your parcels are machineable, they should meet the following conditions: They should be very stable to prevent them from flipping over. Always fill them out with cushioning material or bubble wrap. Use regular shapes with at least one side showing the transport label horizontally. Use suitable and sufficiently strong packaging for the contents. Avoid using complicated shapes and materials that make it harder to read the label, such as plastic and cellophane which are shiny and reflect. Your parcels should be sealed closed using a securing method that does not overlap, with no string, handles, flap, etc. If you can, use compact packaging which will make the parcel stronger. If you are sending rolls use machineable tubes (triangular or square overpacking guaranteeing the stability of the parcel). Standard, non machineable rolls, are systematically priced higher. Label and customs documents To ship your parcel to its destination, it needs a label that is machinereadable by La Poste. We recommend you ensure that: It is correctly printed Has no blank lines Has nothing crossed out Is positioned flat on the largest side of the parcel Has no creases. 177 1 The single administrative document (SAD) If the value of your shipment is above 1,000 (1), you will also need to fill out the SAD (single administrative document) in addition to producing the CN23 and the pro forma invoice. La Poste can issue this document on behalf of the sender if necessary. Proof of export Where can you get one? At the Chamber of Commerce and industry (CCI). Advantage La Poste fills out this document for the customer if needed.
