Pack Expo 2018 continues its set trend and marks Romania as an important pole in packaging industry in Southeast Europe. Camelia Buda General Manager Euroexpo 2 The exhibition represented a new and thriving experience for us and we are committed to deliver the best technological show in Packaging industry in Romania and the region. Latest economic development of Romania placed it as an important regional pole and together with our partner Romexpo we joined out forces and delivered a well-targeted event for all packaging industries. Last year s event generated great reviews and exhibitors and visitors were happy to attend. For 2018 we expect a larger number of foreign visitors and a greater impact on the market, creating thus the most important packaging exhibition in our region. Mihai Costris General Manager Romexpo Pack Expo, the largest trade show dedicated to manufacturers and suppliers of equipment for production of packaging represents the joint effort of Romexpo and Euroexpo to relaunch this industry in Romania by compressing two events of tradition and reference in previous years: All Pack and Pack Show. After the 2016 edition, I am convinced that Pack Expo is likely to become, together with its related events and conferences, an event all professionals in Southeast Europe in the industry will want to be present year after year! Also, I can reveal for the first time that Pack Expo 2018 will be held in the new pavilions that Romexpo is preparing, Halls B, in order to meet the requirements of Romanian and international exhibitors, as well as the requirements from fairs market, which is evolving.

3 Overview The newest estimations show that by 2020, worldwide packaging industry will reach UDS 1 trillion (Smithers Pira). However, expansion will not be uniform. Southeast European countries will expand beyond the market average, creating new opportunities for material suppliers and converters. Simultaneously, more established regions are undergoing significant business and demographic changes that will transform value chains in the packaging segment. In Romania, the economic readjustment from the past years had a positive impact on the entire packaging industry: the slight income increase attracted more consumer confidence and leaded to a boost of packaging sales. Specialists say the upward trend that started in 2015 will continue until 2020, with a 2-3% compound annual growth rate in majority of packaging types and a 5percent for domestic animal food packaging Romania is an unusual market with PET bottles still on top of popularity packaging products in different industries. Local beer producers use this type of package the most for bottling their products although on East European markets glass bottles and metal cans are dominant for beer packaging. PET bottles are also frequently used for food products and personal care and beauty products. Why Romania 3 Romania is a technological hub in Southeast Europe Romania is a real startups magnet and Bucharest is the most important hub for new business (58% of new business is located in Bucharest according to European Venture Capital Association). Most startups are focused on regional or even global presence.
