2 External System Abbreviation External System Description Interface Direction (from perspective of new system) Bridge Management System (BMS) BMS BMS is a purchased application with department add ons. It is used to store bridge inspection information and schedule bridge inspections. Outgoing Crash Analysis Reporting CAR The CAR system provides a framework against which the safety office collects, maintains, locates, analyzes, and reports crash accident data. The primary purpose is to identify highway safety improvement construction projects. orting/account/login Outgoing Electronic Document Management System EDMS Document management system to be used with the new system for storing all files. te that EDMS does not currently interface with RCI. It is included here since there is an explicit requirement for the new system to utilize EDMS. Incoming and Outgoing Federal Authorization FAMS/FMIS Management System/Financial Management Information System This System transmits federal project information to the federal highway administration (FHWA) for subsequent authorization of federal funding for transportation projects Outgoing Financial Project Search FPS A crosswalk for highway operations, construction, materials, maintenance, design, and right of way to search for project numbers and project information. GIS Enterprise View GEV GIS Application used as a standard GIS Framework for FDOT Maintenance Rating Program MRP The Maintenance Rating Program (MRP) is a a uniform evaluation system for maintenance features on the State Highway System. Pavement Condition Survey PCS Pavement Condition Survey is a system used and maintained by the State Materials Office that grades, records, and reports on the condition of the roadways in the State Highway System. Outgoing Outgoing Outgoing Outgoing Permit Information Tracking System PITS Permit Tracking System records and tracks maintenance project permit requests submitted by the public to FDOT throughout the lifecycle of those requests: receipts by FDOT, review, approval (or denial), expiration, &/or extension, including correspondence dates. Outgoing Pavement Management and Reporting Pavement Marking Management System Project Suite Enterprise Edition Roadway Inventory Tracking System PM PMM PSEE RITA Maintenance office system used to record and Outgoing report on visual and mechanical evaluation of routine highway maintenance conditions, like pavement failure, and resurfacing needs. Pavement Marking Management system is a new Outgoing system that will be in production in the near future. PMMS records and reports on the retroreflectivity of the pavement markings on the State Highway System. Provides project managers and administrators Outgoing additional information about underway work program projects to ensure those projects stay on time and within budget. Custom application used by District Offices to Outgoing manage their highway data collection efforts. Also used by Transtat to assist in performing District Quality Evaluations. Helps Transtat know when data is coming to time to report (5 yrs). This serves as a form of quality assurance Attachment 3-1

3 Right of Way Management System RWM Establishment, management, and reporting of Right of Way Projects, and their progress through appraisal, acquisition, litigation, relocation, business damages, transmittal submittals to financial services. Skid Hazard Reporting SHR System provides for data collection of skid tests taken by the state materials OFC on state maintained roadways. The results will be analyzed to determine if problem areas exist which should be addressed to lessen potential crash problems. Straight Line Diagrammer SLD System that creates straight line diagram documents. It is a custom application that was written by Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) at USF. Traffic Characteristics TCI System used to gather and report on traffic Inventory statistics Video Log VLG Provides video documentation of the road segement for review. Work Program WPA The Work Program Administration system is used to develop and monitor the department s multiyear work program. Projects are identified and programmed by phase cost and fund, against their Web Transport (Preconstruction) WTP Outgoing Outgoing Outgoing Incoming and Outgoing Outgoing Outgoing programs and allocations. WTP is an AASHTO web application for managing Outgoing different phases of a construction project including project item design, bid letting activities of advertisement, processing bids, evaluating bids, and project award.
