11 Accessing the Model Model Package Delivered January 2016 Developed in TransCAD 6.0 release 2 build 9085 Interface contains Scenario Manager, Model Run, and Utilities Reference Model Documentation (User s Guide & Practice Scenarios) Installing the SHIFT Model Install directly under the C drive (e.g. C:\SHIFT_Model\ ). Sub folders: Interface resource files and the GUI files for the add in Master input files to create a model scenario Parameters parameters files to run the model 11

21 21 Results Presented The SHIFT Model can provide: Daily volumes for Auto and Truck Daily volume percent difference Bandwidth flow maps Select link analysis The SHIFT Model is an appropriate tool for: Analysis of regional or national truck assignments City to City and State to State analysis Large corridor (interstate) planning, especially for rural areas Support statewide travel demand models (Through trips, validation checks, subarea analysis, etc.) The SHIFT Model is NOT an appropriate tool for: Replacing existing statewide or regional travel demand models Replacing existing freight tools or freight plans Use in toll modeling, urban area modeling, intersection and interchange analysis or mode choice analysis.
