2 The Conference There are many benefits to living in a rural community, however, getting the right kind of help for mental health problems in rural, regional and remote communities can present many challenges for individuals, families and workers. Challenges exist in accessing, coordinating and building supports that enable people to lead satisfying and meaningful lives of their choosing. The conference theme, We re In It Together, will focus on the issues, conditions, and challenges faced by service providers in the delivery of services to mental health consumers. The theme will highlight the creative ways in which regional health workers develop health care approaches, network with local services and non-profit organisations, and share knowledge and expertise with the community to maximise health outcomes for consumers. People with lived experience and carers will have the opportunity to share their experience of mental health and recovery. Along with interested community members, they will also have the opportunity to learn and participate at the conference sessions. The conference will include keynote speakers, concurrent sessions and a poster display which will directly address the needs of rural and remote communities. 3 Location Destination: Broome, Western Australia (Yawuru Country) Broome is a beach resort town in Western Australia s Kimberley region. Along its Indian Ocean coastline, the white sands of 22km-long Cable Beach offer a dramatic backdrop for sunset camel rides. At Gantheaume Point nearby, dinosaur tracks are revealed in the beach s red rocks during low tide. Broome s historic Chinatown overlooks the spectacular Roebuck Bay where migratory birds arrive in great numbers every year to feed on the shores of the Bay. Broome is encased in history and has a strong multicultural population. The Yawuru People are the traditional land custodians of the area and take pride in their history and land, with many stories to be told. Broome s day time temperature in October is around 30 C and drops to about 20 C overnight. October has the lowest average rainfall in the calendar year. Sponsorship Opportunities The RRMHC 2017 Organising Committee is seeking to provide you with the best opportunity to promote your company in the way that you want to do it. Below you will see a list of packaged opportunities which provide great value. But you may want to do something special and different -just let us know and we will try our best to meet your requirements. We promise to work with you to give you great value for money and ensure you are satisfied with your return on investment. There are three types of sponsorship: 1 Cash - we need to raise about half our budget in this way so this is preferred. 2 Budget replacement - items such as audio-visual equipment, delegate satchels, printing, etc, help subsidise the cost of the event and keep delegate registration fees down (which is vitally important). 3 Added value things that enhance the delegate experience but do not necessarily reduce the event cost. Cash contributions are more suitable for national suppliers who can t readily transport their goods or services to Broome. We will work with you to ensure that your contribution is very visible. Budget replacement suits suppliers who have products or services we can use and we can incorporate into the program. Added value sponsors will be required to put up some cash to showcase their products at RRMHC 2017.
