4 The TPA Supply Chain Conference is a great way to expand your network not only with other retailers but also with merchants in the industry. The willingness of the conference participants to share their stories and a desire to work collaboratively to improve the industry practices through new and innovative ideas is what make the conference a worthwhile experience. I was able to build relationships with colleagues across geographies while learning the state of the art within the industry and what it takes to be a successful supply chain leader. In the future, the ability to track a product from retail shelf back through every stage of the supply chain, right to the farm gate, in seconds instead of days or weeks, will be the new norm. They recently transitioned to a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model for their transportation management system to obtain advancements in functionality and reap the rewards of cloud technology.
