3 Job holder is responsible for: Key Result Area: Maintenance of Regulatory compliance and export certification Ensures Risk Management Plan (RMP) and Food Safety Manual (FSM) meets regulatory requirements Ensures updates to Hellers FSM into a format that can be easily understood by all stakeholders Provides oversight and approval from a quality perspective of SOPs, new products, processes and changes Ensures export certification and customer standards are gained and maintained Manage the compliance and testing programme Key result Area - Delivery of Quality Management Programme Review and recommend strategy to manage quality within the factory. Implement recommendations and champion behavioural change approach to quality improvement Manage audit programme by: Developing, delivering and maintaining the audit plan Driving improvement within the business Ensuring HACCP plan is in place and reviewed Ensuring external audits are scheduled, communicated and managed Provide solutions to improve operational performance by measuring against industry and customer standards. This includes supporting the QA team, NPD and production team with specific food safety issues Job holder is successful when: Audits passed RMP and FSM regularly reviewed and up to date FSM easy to understand Systems maintained to meet regulatory standards Plant processes and systems maintained Changes to processes etc are approved from quality and compliance perspective Company rules, policies and procedures are followed Compliance and testing is effective Food Safety/Quality strategy is reviewed and recommendations made to COO. Recommendations are implemented to implement a behavioural approach to quality improvement Quality is seen as important at all levels of organisation as evidenced by observations and other means Auditing schedule followed FSP registrations maintained <3 Major CAR s identified in compliance audits All CAR s closed within agreed timeframes Results are reported accurately and within agreed timeframes HACCP plans are maintained and a review programme in place Audit report follows best practice rules: What should be done What is currently done and why? Risk/negative outcome Actions by when Follow up External audits are passed Recommendations for process and/or operational solutions are made Managers are supported to implement improvements
4 Key Result Area - Manage QA team Manage QA team to ensure that team members are developed and effectively led Support the Auckland plant QA team with advice in quality and compliance areas Effective leadership modelled with team including clear expectations, feedback and regular communication Utilise and role model the Situational Leadership II model and the way we work culture Key Result Area Health and Safety and the environment Ensure hazards are identified and either eliminated, isolated or minimised Manage unsafe behaviour Follow H&S and environmental systems, processes, policies and procedures Key Result Area - Develops Food Safety Drive specific food safety projects as required Drive Quality system improvements Provides quality and compliance support to Auckland and Hornby sites. Works collaboratively with Auckland and Hornby QA Managers to provide consistent approach to food safety across all sites Development plan in place for all roles Performance reviews completed Sound leadership displayed at all times Company culture demonstrated Regular meetings held Auckland team supported Technical Manager consulted for functional support Situational leadership II training attended and model role modelled Hazards are controlled. All hazards are reported on hazard register All incidents and near misses are investigated and recorded Key staff have attended Safety Leadership training Unsafe behaviour managed. Safety Observations completed and safety targets met Specific food safety programmes are implemented within timeframes as defined by COO or CEO Improved food safety/quality of product to market Processes/systems regularly reviewed and continuously improved Consistency and collaboration across all sites Technical support and group problem solving occurs when needed Note The above performance standards are provided as a guide only. The precise performance measures for this position will need further discussion between the jobholder and manager as part of the performance development process.

Qualifications (or equivalent level of learning) Essential Desirable Relevant tertiary qualification in quality management or similar Knowledge / Experience Essential (indicate years of experience required as appropriate) 5+ years experience managing quality and compliance activities in food manufacturing environment 5+ years managing and motivating QA team Computer literacy HACCP awareness and the principles of food safety Desirable Experience or understanding of food manufacturing exporting environment Experience in quality assurance and auditing Key Skills / Attributes / Job Specific Competencies Able to analyse and problem solve Desire to change things /improve/seeks excellence The ability to analyse and diagnose the root cause of issues.
