1 Marketing and Sales Manager Job Pack Hoxton Hall is a Victorian grade II* listed music hall theatre built in The venue also houses adjoining music rooms and recording space, meeting and rehearsal rooms, dance studio, art studios and creative industry workspace; Hoxton Works. In 2015 Hoxton Hall completed stage 2 capital restoration and refurbishment works supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council England and other partners. The project restored the theatre to its Victorian glory, significantly increasing its capacity to up to 290 and technical capabilities. Hoxton Hall seeks to create exciting communal live performance experiences that are accessible to a wide range of communities.facilitating and creating work that responds to this uniquely atmospheric and intimate venue. HOXTON HALL VISION To be a home of contemporary variety performance entertaining and inspiring creative communities of artists, participants and audiences, reflecting the rich diversity of East London. Performance Hoxton Hall s multi art form programme of contemporary performance offers a uniquely intimate viewing experience giving audiences the opportunity to pick and mix in a multimedia, multi-choice entertainment market. The Hall presents a year round to professional performance programme alongside extensive participatory programmes. Hoxton Hall is a space for artist development, a vital incubation space to make work in a supportive environment; creating bridges for participants to transition into emerging artists and producing unique work inspired by the space and place. Hoxton Hall brings communities together through entertainment. Participation Hoxton Hall aims to be a learning organisation creating interchangeable links between artists, audience and participant each user a key element in enabling the organisation continued evolution and development delivering a valuable creative cultural resource. Hoxton Hall is a Hackney youth hub working with 80% BAME local communities, delivering for Young Londoners from 7 to 19 years old, 6 days a week. 2 Marketing and Sales Manager Job Description Hoxton Hall is a visionary arts charity, with participation at its core and expanding performance and heritage programmes. As we embark our next phase of development after re-establishing our grade II* listed building following a capital development; we seek an experienced, dedicated and strategic Marketing and Sales Manager with strong arts-focused marketing, press and sales experience to support the organisation at this exciting time. The right candidate will have a strategic and dynamic approach to delivering marketing and communication strategies and direct experience of managing ticketing and CRM systems and relationships with external PR, promotional and design agencies. The applicant will be able to generate both commercial and community audiences through creative and cost-effective campaigns conception and management. The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting all the work of Hoxton Hall with an aim of increasing profile and raising income. They will also demonstrate a passion for Hoxton Hall s work. Marketing and Sales Manager - Job Duties and Responsibilities Terms: Reporting to: Artistic Director Direct Reports: Marketing and Events Co-ordinator Salary: Hours: Holidays: 25,000-28,000 per annum (dependent on experience) 35 hours per week (during office hours 10am 6pm Monday to Friday, evening and weekend work may be required from time to time) 25 days (excluding public holidays) per annum Purpose of the Role This management role has overall responsibility for communications strategy and sales activity by creating, implementing and managing innovative and cost effective communications and sales strategies and is responsible for all aspects of marketing and press through creative use of off and online mediums. Representing and building Hoxton Hall s brand on a practical and strategic level through a variety of channels including partnerships, media planning, relationship marketing and digital media. Developing tools for engaging young participants and new audiences and to promote our venues, studios, workspaces and theatre, encouraging income generation. Direct Responsibilities: Audience Development - take a broad view of audience development to include local community, young people, existing theatre audiences, heritage interest visitors, patrons and volunteers, develop strategic audience development plans to engage, sustain and manage these audiences. Campaign Management - innovative planning, managing and delivery of creative, effective and cost-effective marketing and press campaigns across all appropriate activity working closely with visiting companies and Hoxton Hall staff. Ensuring comprehensive budget management. Produce a range of publicity materials both on and offline involving copywriting, creating digital assets and picture research/commissioning.

3 Developing Partnerships - through reciprocal marketing initiatives and targeted ticket offers/incentives with external organisations and press and media agencies. Working with the fundraising team to maximise promotional opportunities with businesses and organisations in North and East London. Sales Tracking and Analysis - ensure maximum reach, engagement and income through ongoing sales tracking and reporting with the aptitude to respond swiftly as patterns and trends emerge. Ensuring that, as far as possible, income and attendance targets are achieved. Carrying out thorough post-show/event evaluation of all campaigns including statistical analysis from Spektrix and google analytics. Ticketing and Sales Team Management take responsibility for the set-up of all ticketed and non-ticketed events on Hoxton Hall s CRM and Ticketing system (Spektrix). Agree pricing structures and targets with the Artistic Director. Manage the Marketing and events co-ordinator. Train and rota casual box office staff to ensure that the Box Office is manned during opening times and a good level of customer service is demonstrated at all times. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) manage Hoxton Hall s CRM and Ticketing system (Spektrix) effectively, ensuring that clean and robust data is captured and utilised to its fullest potential. Regularly report on sales patterns and audience demographics to inform ongoing and future campaign planning and income generation. Be up-to-date with best practice and data protection laws to ensure that all information is secure. Customer Services work with the Theatre Manager to ensure that all front-facing staff deliver a high standard of customer service at all times and that the front of house areas remain clean and safe for visitors. Press manage the relationship with the PR agencies to develop contacts and a proactive press and media strategy, to place stories that raise the profile of Hoxton Hall and associated partners and artists. Arrange PR and celebratory events, interviews and relevant media information packs and documents and represent Hoxton Hall where required. Brand Guardianship - take responsibility for visual representation and brand guidelines of Hoxton Hall both on and off line and on and off site, ensuring the brand is not compromised. Stakeholder Management adopt stakeholder management as a core part of the communications plan, ensure the relevant staff members carry-out timely, effective, relevant and on message communication to stakeholders. Update at regular management meetings. Shared Responsibilities: Work with the team at Hoxton Hall to ensure projects are well attended and that young people are consulted and engaged with our work. Work with the team at Hoxton Hall to care for and safeguard our building by ensuring the building, rooms and equipment are in the right place and fit for purpose and that the building is safe for the public, secure at all times and that opening and locking up procedures are enforced.

4 Take an active role in ensuring Hoxton Hall s equal opportunities policy and health and safety policies are understood and observed by all staff and users of the building. Take a proactive role in annual business planning. General Responsibilities: Carry out own time planning and administration, including managing relevant aspects of the budget, as agreed with the Artistic Director and General Manager. Attend regular meetings including staff meetings and one-to-one meetings with the General Manager and external networks and partnership meetings. Undertake any additional activities as may be required from time to time to contribute to the work of Hoxton Hall.

Skills, Knowledge and Ability Previous experience of box office systems, merchant accounts, card payments and cash handling procedures Management of maintenance, services and utilities in performing arts building, open to the public personnel Experience of dealing with contractors to a budget and time frame Ability & Skills to plan methodically and with detail and document Experience of implementing and reviewing a Health and Safety monitoring programme. Knowledge of current H&S legislation and approved codes of practice. Effective time management Willingness to secure sponsorship Legal negotiation ability on point of contract when services or quality is poor Listed buildings heritage Ideally listed building, heritage venue or theatre Ideally spectrix and installation of these systems Dealing with IT and Telecoms contractors Knowledge licensing entertainment regulations of and
