11 SmartBilling The latest generation in consumption accounting msu.smartbilling enables editing of business processes in consumption accounting, master data management, market communication and receivables management across all segments and market roles electricity, gas, heating, water, wastewater, metering services, grid feed-in remuneration within an interdepartmental and consistently process-driven framework. The different contractual types for domestic and business clients, key account and special contract customers, market actors and the like are based on an innovative, clearly structured product generator with high-performance rate and price structure. Mass-compatible program features ensure automated processing of contractual periods and notice periods, rate and price adjustments on certain deadlines, clearing cycles and dunning correspondence. Revenues and receivables are booked in precisely the right category at any time. 13 EEG-feed Producing energy in times of turnaround Renewable energies account for an ever-greater proportion of electricity supply. The statutory documentation and accounting requirements placed in EEG (Renewable Energy Act) systems, as well as the reporting requirements according to the national Register of guarantees of origin by the UBA Environmental Agency, are rising at the same speed. The connection and purchase requirements defined for grid operators include an obligation to accept the electricity, to provide monthly data reports and forecasts and to install an accounting system for the feed-in remuneration. The EEG-feed module enables management of all EEG/combined heat and power plant systems as well as provision of accounting of the feed-in remuneration to meet statutory requirements. The integrated cost accounting module is an effective tool for intra-company services accounting, plan/actual analyses, expense distribution analyses, multi-level contribution margin accounting, price and rate calculations. Company statistics are analysed and evaluated based on costs and revenues from operative business and according to any relevant criteria, including market roles, cost centres, cost types, segments, products and rates. The module manages all kinds of technical systems and assets, meter points and grid areas, and also handles intelligent future technologies such as SmartMeters and SmartGrids. 16 msu.energy

17 Technical service and project management The module msu.technicalservice guarantees the control and implementation of investments, maintenance and service measures for technical systems and properties. The services spectrum includes order processing, maintenance and audit management, meter and device management, grid and mains connection management, technical asset management, time recording systems, warehouse and materials management, purchasing and procurement management. The integrated project management module is used to define work packages and business processes in order to implement one-time and cyclic investment, maintenance and servicing measures. The individual technical measures are managed as Planning, Offer, Order, Ongoing, Complete, Billed/Capitalised, depending on the status. The resources required for technical systems, including human resources, equipment and machinery, are planned here. The system also organises material withdrawals and procurements, commissions external services and logs the implementation of measures with timely deadline and budget control. Forwarded charges for jobs completed on behalf of customers can be generated automatically. The services are billed as lump sum or expensebased services with or without overheads and profit surcharges. 19 Meter management smart measurement systems are on their way msu.metermanagement delivers readings used to handle contract and framework agreement accounting; it provides data in the form of meter and consumption values, load cycles, areas, device sizes and much more. The system accommodates parent and child structures with virtual meter points just as much as sub-readings in several cascades with automated calculation of sums and difference amounts. All processes relating to the metering points are process-controlled. The meter points are ideally suited to the management of intelligent metering systems such as SmartMeter with any number of hard drives and an integrated, program-assisted rate calculation for meter reading series. Close integration within the accounting system introduces substantial simplicity to these complex rate models. The use of SmartMeters and other measurement devices in bidirectional reading systems is one of the bases for billing feed-in volumes. Meter management ensures efficient processing of all incoming measurement data. The data quality ensures smooth downstream processing in automated business processes such as billing systems. 20 20 msu.energy msu.connect is designed to transmit and receive data packages in standardised formats - XML, EDIFACT, ASCII, Excel - from a variety of source systems, and to validate and process these data packages. This enables bidirectional communication with other IT systems in handling business processes both inside and outside of msu.energy.

21 Connect interfaces New data mobility Each module within msu.connect consists of extensive metadata and auditing tools with integrated business logic. This enables structured processing of data packages between the various IT systems. Import and export of any data as individual processes or mass stacks can therefore be handled within an automatic or manual framework. The system detects the data format of imported data along with the interface version used, e.g. EDIFACT format version according to GPKE and GeLi Gas; it evaluates the data and makes it available in msu.energy for further processing. When handling exports, the data are sent to the recipient and, if technically possible, data tracking is provided until the data package has been validated in the target system, e.g. with the confirmation messages CONTROL and APERAK in market communication. The system can generate spreadsheet analyses or business charts as interactive SQL print reports, in Microsoft Excel, online with Office 365 or as interface export in XML structure as required.
