At RESEARCH EXPO 2014, over 110 supply chain master s students from over 30 countries will showcase their company-sponsored thesis projects. Stroll among the e-posters, chat with the next generation of supply chain leaders, and vote for the Best Project. This year s projects are sponsored by global companies such as BASF, BNSF Railway, Boeing, C.H. Robinson, Coyote Logistics, Dow AgroSciences, General Mills, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Niagara Bottling, Ralph Lauren, Schlumberger, and many more. Gain access to exciting new research from MIT s leading supply chain and operations faculty and research staff during a rapid-fire program of research briefings. On December 3, at the annual Holiday Networking Party, we collected 52 toys and enough in cash/check donations to purchase 12 more toys. That means 64 local children in need received a toy this season as a result of this effort. We wish to thank all donors for their contributions! 5 President s Message On behalf of the North Shore Chapter Board of Directors, I wish all of you a safe, happy and prosperous New Year! We are excited to kick off our 2014 offerings. We encourage you to explore all of the ways the Chapter can help you achieve APICS certification and all your professional goals. If you hurry, you might still be able to get into the CSCP workshop listed. Registration closed 12/31/13, but you can contact Ed Austin to see if there are any seats still open. MPR and BSCM are being offered next. Our annual membership survey is included in this newsletter. Collecting your input helps the Board steer the Chapter s activities. While we recognize that filling out any survey is a pain, we try to make it as easy for you as possible.
