If possible remove coping stones from party wall with adjacent cottage and continue slates over. N. To barn roof record number and size of diminishing courses for re-slating. Carefully remove stone slates from roof slope, set aside and sort for re-use. Strip old battens. Damaged slates/stone slates to be re-dressed for re-use higher up roof slope where possible. Roof structure to be carefully dismantled and each sound timber labelled to be replaced in original position. New rafters to match section of existing (allow for 5% replacement). Form new truss to match exisitng (in west bay of house) in position as indicated. P. Carefully take down and rebuild unsound sections of walltops to north and south elevations of main house and barn, allow for three courses. Q. Carefully take down and rebuild upper section of south east corner and east gable of house. Take down to roofline of adjoining barn. Walls to be rebuilt using NHL 3.5 hydraulic lime grit sand mortar. R. Re-point and/or carry out masonry repairs to hairline cracks to south elevation of main house. Where directed carefully remove existing stones to either side of crack every fourth or fifth course and re-lay to bridge gap. In areas of voids mortar should be packed firmly in the back of joints and packing or pinning material of small sotne pieces or slates should be hammered well back to completely fill the space. Internally provide metal strapping to corner to structural engineer's details. S. To masonry generally, carefully remove moss and lichen and rake oit loose pointing. Any voids in to be gravity grouted, otherwise re-point in NHL 3.5 hydraulic lime grit sand mortar. T. Carry out masonry repairs to full length of crack to east gable of barn. Every fourth or fifith course, carefully remove existing stones either side of crack and re-lay to bridge gap as noted above. U. To east bay of house strip corrugated sheet roofing and supporting purlins. V. Carefully take down and rebuild section below eaves of north elevation of house at abutment with rear extension. Wall to be rebuilt using NHL 3.5 hydraulic lime grit sand mortar. To fireplace shore up underside of masonry, carefully remove decayed spreading timber lintel above broken stone lintel and replace. Repair/replace broken stone lintel. Repair and line out chimney flues internally with double skim metal liners. 3. Above existing openings, carefully remove decayed timber lintels or broken stone lintels and replace with RC concrete lintels. Prop stonework as required. Make good stonework as required using NHL 3.5 hydraulic lime grit sand mortar. 4. New lightweight steel stair with glazed balustrades to be installed to access first floor. 5. Rear wing to be re-built off new foundations to Structural Engineer's details, walls to be cavity with stone outer facing and external tanking where walls are below finished ground levels. Outer skin of wall to be 50mm reclaimed natural stone. 6. New timber roof structure over rear wing, new trusses in positions as indicated. 7. Mud room/shower room to be constructed below existing ground level, structure to be fully tanked with green roof over. 8.
