1 Job Description Job Title Responsible to Location Contract Manager Area Manager Woking To be accountable for the business, budgetary and cost centre performance across Woking Contract To manage, develop and motivate a team of Site Managers. To ensure the day to day management and running of the leisure centres is being conducted to the highest standards. To assist in the development, maintenance and evaluation of the operating strategy for the centres and associated contracts. To ensure all the facilities continuously improve both in operational standard and commercial viability. Measure and improve the daily financial performance of all facilities. Key Relationships Woking Borough Council Officers Site Managers Staff Teams Area Manager Eecutive Team Human Resources Department General Public Eternal bodies as appropriate Area Technical Manager Business and Sales Management To assist with the setting, monitoring and evaluating of each centres budget, whilst liaising with finance and assisting the Site Managers to control staffing, maintenance, projects and developments. Analyse the sales achievements and process each month to ensure effectiveness Look at ways of maimizing the secondary spend potential across the programmes Indentify and introduce new and innovate new programmes to both achieve our commercial and community objectives. Continue to measure the efficiency of the business, utilize KPI s such as catering GP and membership retention figures to drive the business. To ensure that the organisations facilities, products and programmes reflect Freedom Leisure s Equal Opportunities Policy and meet the diverse needs of the people in the community and our workforce. Ensure that all centres are being managed in a professional and in a business orientated manner, taking decisions in accordance with the organisations aims and objectives, ensuring the centres understand their contribution to the business plan. Bring the contract together to ensure that objectives are achieved across the contract.

2 Operational Management To ensure the centres are consistently maintaining the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction at all times, communicating to and ensuring that the Site Managers recognise its importance and relevance to the success of the organisation. To oversee all operational areas of the business through the Site Managers and liaison with the Area Manager and Head Office teams, ensuring that the centres are always operating to the highest and most effective standards. To assist the Area Manager and contribute to the strategic direction of the operations function. As part of the Senior Management Team to contribute to the development and implementation of health, safety, security and operational policies. Staff Management To supervise and manage Site Managers on a day to day basis ensuring that all work and performance is carried out in accordance to the set procedures and that motivation and morale levels are high. To be responsible for the recruitment, training and development of Site Managers, including ongoing performance management. To undertake performance reviews for team members on an annual basis ensuring feedback on performance is given monthly in line with the policy and procedures. Ensure Site managers have also completed the performance reviews of their teams. Communicate effectively with your team on a timely basis ensuring robust systems eist so that staff feel informed and involved with overall site performance. To support the Human Resources Manager with employee relations hearings as required. To have responsibility for risk management and health and safety in the workplace. General To fully participate in the performance review process and personal development planning. Undertake training as necessary in line with the development of the post and agreed with your line manager. Occasionally training or meetings are organised outside normal working hours. The post holder will be epected to attend whenever reasonably practicable. To achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed timescales. To contribute positively to the effectiveness and efficiency of the teams in which he/she works. To undertake any other duties at the request of the line manager which are commensurate with the role, including project work, internal job rotation and absence cover which will include Duty Manager cover on a shift basis. 4 A Qualifications Education to degree level or equivalent Person Specification Contract Manager A relevant higher professional qualification in leisure or business studies GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths Essential Desirable Evidenced by A/C B Eperience Eperience of problem solving, customer service and staff management. A/I At least three years in a site management (or equivalent) role in a leisure environment Eperience in a multi-site operational management role Eperience in wet dry and fitness facilities Eperience of identifying staff training and development requirements and implementing development opportunities. Eperience of managing or contributing to a sales target Strong people management skills. C Knowledge, Skills, Competencies A high awareness of industry developments, new activities, trends and research. A/I An ability to lead and motivate a staff team Good commercial awareness which translates into a successful and financially viable operation. Good IT skills including the ability to produce and interpret reports and data. Ecellent communication skills, demonstrated both verbally and in writing.
