1 POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: DEPARTMENT: REPORTS TO: LEVEL / STATUS: SUPERVISES: CALL CENTER SPECIALIST Call Center Data Processing Manager 4 / Non-Exempt None PRIMARY PURPOSE Provide professional, accurate, courteous and prompt service to all members via telephone concerning information about the credit union and its services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS 1. Perform member account transaction by phone. 2. Maintain accurate, neat and accountable records of all transaction and communications performed throughout the day; i.e. loan files, daily work, worksheets, etc. (database of inquiries/phone system log). 3. Responsible for identifying members needs and recommending additional financial services. 4. Responsible for actively promoting marketing efforts. Help evaluate the effectiveness and quality of delivery of services and make recommendations. 5. Answer all incoming call center phone calls. 6. Responsible for understanding all account ownership structures including but not limited to Saving, Checking, Christmas, Jumbo, POD, IRA, Certificates, Living Trust, UTTMA, Deceased (issue of ownership of funds), individual, join and business accounts. 7. Process all loan request applications, credit reports, recaps and update information on loan application feature. Call Center Specialist 1 January 2005

2 8. Understand, explain and when required, execute transactions regarding the following: a. Member Savings/Checking Account Information Existing member loan information Debit and ATM Cards Checking/Share Draft accounts Savings Programs Savings Rate Sheet PHFCU Fee Schedule Dormant Account Policy Regulation CC Policy Money Orders, Travelers Checks and Bonds Share Account Transfers Member eligibility b. Member Loan Information New loan applications Credit Union loan policy, governmental regulation, Truth-in- Lending and Truth-in-Savings Credit Bureau Reports Loan Rate Sheet NADA/MSRP Loan payment options, interest charges, deposit account, payoffs. Loan Insurance Programs Personalized Pricing 9. Determine Loan Officer/Member Service Specialist loan assignment by: a. Adverse action on Credit Bureau b. Exceeds debt ratio guidelines c. Delinquent history on file 10. Attend regular staff, MSR and other pertinent meetings as required by Management. 11. Responsible for follow-up on all member research requests. 3 OTHER DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS 1. Conducts every aspect of this position, involving interpersonal relations, in line with the concept that all personnel, staff, shareholders and visitors are afforded full and equal treatment in all matters without regard to race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, lawful political affiliation, physical handicap or marital status. 2. Periodically serves on various Credit Union committees (i.e. Safety, Social Events, etc.) 3. Performs such other duties and responsibilities as may be prescribed by the Data Processing Manager. 4. Pursues a program of: a. Self development. b. Utilizing such training and education as may be required by the credit union: in connection with this position; for career development. 5. Ensures a secure, neat, clean and safe work area. WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Equipment Used: a. Personal computer b. 10-key calculator c. Telephone d. Typewriter e. Fax Machine f. Copy Machine g. Document Scanner h. Printer i. Microfiche/Microfilm Readers 2. Work Hours: a. Monday Saturday, 8:00 am 6:00 pm. b. Overtime as required by Management. c. Work hours and days are subject to change. 4 MENTAL DEMANDS 1. Requires the application of sound decision-making principles, logical thinking and good judgment. 2. Requires alertness, concentration and attention to detail. 3. Requires the use of good judgment when dealing with difficult or uncomfortable situations. 4. Requires basic mathematics skills. 5. Requires working well with members, co-workers and management. 6. Requires the ability to recognize and identify possible problems and address these situations to co-workers and or management. 7. Have a good understanding of word and excel programs and all PHFCU supported applications. COMMUNICATION DEMANDS 1. Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing with members, peers, and managers. PHYSICAL DEMANDS 1. Requires sitting at a work station and using a telephone for periods up to 4 hours (without a break) for up to a 10 hour work day. 2. Requires the ability to understand and complete instructions. 3. Requires data entry/key punching and mouse skills to complete daily work. 4. Ability to view and correctly interpret numbers, text and images on a computer screen. 5. Requires the use of various office equipment to perform duties. 6. Requires verifying documents for accuracy. 7. Requires working beyond the 8-hour day periodically. 5 8. Requires lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Skills/Knowledge: a. Ability to learn and apply learned skills. b. Ability to work with all types of people. c. Ability to use a computer key board. d. Ability to type 40 WPM. e. Ability to operate a 10 key calculator. f. Knowledge of basic math skills. g. Ability to work cooperatively with members, co-workers and management. h. Must be bondable. 2. Education and Training: a. High School graduate or GED equivalent required. 3. Experience: a.
