1 JOB DESCRIPTION AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL INTERNATIONAL SECRETARIAT (AIIS) JOB TITLE: Senior Management Accountant & Analyst DEPARTMENT: Finance JOB PURPOSE: To support effective financial decision making across the International Secretariat through delivering excellent business partnering, insightful financial reporting & analysis, and rigorous annual budgeting & quarterly forecast processes. You will line manage 2 Management Accountants & 1 Assistant Management Accountant, and support the team to deliver the best service possible to stakeholders across the organization. DEPARTMENT PURPOSE: The Finance department of the IS is accountable for approximately 250m of annual global funds raised for human rights work across the world. IS Finance is split across 3 teams to fulfil its purpose: 1) International Finance Responsible for the consolidated financial information of the IS and its 70 global partners to ensure effective planning, control and monitoring of global income and review of global resource allocation 2) Management Accounts and Procurement Responsible for financial information and analysis of the programmes of work undertaken globally by the IS 3) Central Finance Responsible for the financial accounting, processing, governance, treasury and statutory reporting of the IS The IS Finance team exists to ensure accountability of the funds donated or granted to Amnesty, from effective resource allocation, to reporting to donors on project spend, to assisting in global income growth. IS Finance has a responsibility to help maximise the effectiveness of our funding to further the cause of improving global human rights. AIIS PURPOSE: The IS, which operates from a number of sites around the world, gathers and communicates accurate and action-oriented human rights information globally. We campaign for meaningful human rights change; enable effective human rights activism and work to persuade governments and other actors to uphold universal human rights standards. We provide strategic leadership, support and advice to the AI movement globally, fostering AI s contribution, presence and public accountability throughout the world.

2 WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Reporting to: Head of Management Accounts and Procurement Posts that this job manages: 2 Management Accountant & Analysts (Finance Business Partners), 1 Assistant Management Accountant (FTC 12 month) Other key relationships: Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Regional Office and Programme Directors, Management Team, International Finance team, Central Finance team, Overseas IS offices, Strategy and Evaluation Unit (SEU) Useful Information: May involve some overseas travel and working outside of normal 35 hour working week Location: International Secretariat, London MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop an excellent relationship with budget holders across the organisation, ensuring open communication on operational performance and financial impact, helping to manage financial risk & support decision making. Manage overall month end processes including preparation of budget holder reports & management accounts, including leading regular review of reporting design ensuring reports remain relevant & useful for decision makers. Project Manage the annual budget process, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation to plan & execute the process, provide regular communication to project leads, lead design & development of budget templates & training for budget holders.

3 Line management and development of management accountants and assistant management accountant, including scheduling work plans and monitoring performance Work closely with the Systems Accountant & other members of the Central Finance team at key points in the year to ensure that information in financial systems delivers robust and accurate financial reporting Prepare ad hoc programme or project based financial analysis as required, present and advise on these in order to support the SLT with decision making Work with SEU to ensure our resources are aligned to our strategy and plans, linking financial reporting cycle to Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning cycles WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE IN THIS JOB? Budget holders are financially aware, accountable and responsible The Finance team, in particular the Management Accounts and Analysis team, fully understand the programmes and projects of work within the IS Financial reports prepared by the team provide relevant, useful, timely and accurate information to all stakeholders Opportunities for improvements in processes and outputs are identified and responded to Financial processes are as aligned as possible with strategic plans and decision making 3 direct reports are supported, motivated and developed SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Qualifications ACA or CIMA qualified 3+ years post qualification experience Degree 2:2 or above Work Experience
