Committed to transformative social change, his interdisciplinary program of research explores ethics, engagement, and knowledge synthesis with respect to marginalized and underrepresented communities. 3 INTERVENANTE EN DIVERSITÉ (EMPLOI D ÉTÉ ÉTUDIANTE) Principales fonctions : Afin d aider le Centre avec les besoins de nos femmes de diverses cultures, l étudiante travaillera avec les femmes en utilisant les outils provenant de leurs cultures. Elle fera aussi un inventaire de ces outils et trouvera une manière de créer des liens et pont pour les modèles parentaux existants dans notre société d aujourd hui. Elle sera en contact avec différents organismes travaillant et représentant une clientèle variée. Elle devra faire un travail d investigation au niveau des pratiques culturelles pour les femmes et leurs enfants dans les différentes cultures. Ce poste possède plusieurs composantes : intervention, investigation, recherche et création d activité sociale. Il y aura aussi des discussions de groupe et exploration des techniques parentales reliées entre elles. Elle travaillera auprès des femmes, mères/enfants et avec les enfants âgés du nouveau-né jusqu à 17 ans. Responsabilité : Intervention avec des outils éducationnels. Discussions en groupe avec les femmes. Recherche et investigation sur les pratiques parentales. Construire des ponts exclusifs en y joignant les outils parentaux de notre société. Création d activités multiculturelles qui représentent les différents pays des femmes en hébergement. At Chabad Lifeline, individuals suffering from substance and behavioural addictions as well as their family members are guided by experienced and caring professionals through the process of healing and recovery. SALARY: Commensurate with experience JOB DESCRIPTION: Providing psychosocial counseling, support, and education around issues related to addiction to youth and adults. Counseling and support provided to youth is not limited to addiction, but can also address issues related to relationships, self-esteem, bullying, anger, stress management, etc. EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: BSW (with a minimum 5 years of work experience) or MSW or MA. Excellent clinical and organizational experience is required, as well as creativity, flexibility, and self-direction. Shows strong initiative and independent judgment, has the ability to multi-task, with proven critical thinking skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, as well as having the ability to work well in a team environment. 4 RESEARCH ASSOCIATE OLD BREWERY MISSION The Research Associate is primarily responsible for data management and analysis and works collaboratively as part of the Old Brewery Mission (OBM) research team, comprised of the Director of Research (Georges Ohana), the project's Principle Investigator (Professor Katherine Maurer, McGill University School of Social Work), and the Research Coordinator. The Research Assistant participates in the development and implementation of the long and short-term goals of the project, the primary aim of which is develop an evidence base to inform OBM s overarching goal of ending homeless through improving their programming and informing policy and practice in Canada. The Research Assistant s primary responsibilities are the management of the data collection process, data analysis, and contributing to interpretation and dissemination of findings. HOURS: Full-time (40 hrs), contract position with flexible hours. REQUIREMENTS: Master s degree in a field relevant to the primary responsibilities and two to four years of related experience managing and analyzing large datasets. Superior analytical and research skills, including experience managing and analyzing large datasets; experience with qualitative data collection and analysis is an asset. Strong communication/presentation, interpersonal, and relation-building skills with the ability to work in a team environment and autonomously. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with an ability to multitask efficiently, as well as establish and respond to priorities and an ability to innovate. Familiarity statistical software (i.e., SPSS, Stata, R, SAS, MPlus, HIFIS); intermediate level knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint to create elaborate documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
