1 HAMILTON TIGER-CATS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM Location: 1 Jarvis Street and Tim Hortons Field Hamilton, Ontario Internship Duration: 7 months: May 1 st November 30 th OR 4-month term followed by another 4- month term. Hourly Commitment: Regular business hours + all 2018 Tiger-Cats home games and special events at Tim Hortons Field. Stipend: $300 per month + payment for each Tiger-Cats home game worked. MISSION STATEMENT The purpose of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Internship Program is to educate participants in all areas of operation of a professional sports organization, and to prepare them for entering today s competitive career market place. Through observation and hands on experience, participants learn how to function in a high-energy professional environment, perform under pressure, show initiative in developing and executing new programs, and utilize essential time management skills. All participants will receive proper guidance, structure, and coaching to ensure their time in the Program enhances their education and career development. REQUIREMENTS Applicants for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Internship Program must be enrolled in a degree/diploma program. Ideal candidates must be hard working, dedicated, self-motivated individuals who possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, and a passion for sports. Computer skills are also an asset. INTERN, COMMUNICATIONS The Hamilton Tiger-Cats Communications Department strives to offer the best media/public relations support in the Canadian Football League. The Communications Intern will play a key role in accomplishing this, while supporting both the football and business sides of the organization. The role will also provide an opportunity for networking, and valuable operational and managerial experience. Help enhance the image and profile of the Tiger-Cats in the media and with the public through strategic communications planning and execution Assist in compilation of news releases and advisories, media guides and other publications, game notes, media kits, etc. Maintain media contact lists Oversee accreditation process Game day responsibilities include: credential distribution at media entrance, press box runner, statistician assistant, etc. Assist in compilation and delivery of media packets for visiting media, featuring game notes, clippings, credentials and statistics Help monitor CFL news at all times and keep appropriate internal staff informed Help coordinate the activities of the team photographer Serve as the team archivist (photos, etc.)

The Community internship program will assist in facilitating our core initiatives and programs which support our mission. Core programs include: 1. BeFit 2. FirstOn The Field Flag Football 3. Be More Than a Bystander Process and fulfill all donation requests in a timely matter Coordinate and assist in the execution of all Tiger-Cats community programs Coordinate and assist Tiger-Cats player appearances involved with community programs Provide administrative support to the Community department on an ongoing basis Attend community events with players and team representatives when necessary Superior interpersonal and customer service skills Strong verbal and written communication skills and problem solving ability Positive attitude and ability to work as a team and independently A genuine passion for football, the Tiger-Cats, and the Hamilton community Ability to work a few weekends and evenings to help facilitate community programs Previous athlete interaction and community relations experience is an asset Must hold a valid driver s license

4 INTERN, CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS Work with the Corporate Partnerships Client Service team to execute sponsorship contract elements Assist in the preparation prepare of client proposals and season recap reports including tracking and compiling sponsorship elements (i.e. maintaining photo database) Assist with the planning and execution of partner prospecting, hosting, and relationship building events Coordinate and facilitate sponsor appearances (player, mascot, and/or cheerleaders) Aid the Corporate Partnerships Department in game day set up and preparation Prepare and execute game-day sponsorship activations, promotional elements, and partner accreditation Work collaboratively with the Corporate Partnerships Client Service team to ensure that all client deliverables, internal responsibilities and reporting are completed and delivered in a timely manner Assist in general departmental administrative tasks Organized and proactive with an eye for detail Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Ability to conductible himself/herself in a professional manner in client facing situations Assets: Familiar with Photoshop Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically PowerPoint & Excel Previous sales and/or client service experience An understanding of football, partnerships, and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats INTERN, FINANCE The Hamilton Tiger-Cats Finance Intern will be exposed to and learn all key functions within the Finance Department. Candidates should be interested in accounting and finance within a professional sports organization, and be currently enrolled in a post-secondary program aligned with the position. 5 Assist with general administrative work including but not limited to: maintaining/organizing files, data entry, copying, filing, and faxing Attention to detail An ability to learn well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong verbal and written communication skills and problem solving ability INTERN, GUEST EXPERIENCE The Hamilton Tiger-Cats Guest Experience Department strives to offer a world class guest experience, creating exemplary moments that set a new standard for guests that enter our venue. The Guest Experience intern will play a key role in executing and improving departmental programs to ensure all guests at Tim Hortons Field receive the best possible customer service. The role also will provide valuable recruitment and management experience. Assist in interviewing and hiring a portion of the Customer Assistance Team Update the Customer Assistance Team training program and assist in full staff training Assist with scheduling and managing the Customer Assistance Team at all Tiger-Cats home games and special events Oversee the Earn Your Stripes Reward Program for event staff Manage Guest Experience Programs such as special occasion in-seat visits, accessible escorts, etc. Research and create online content to educate fans on stadium layout, amenities, directions, etc. Implement policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of service for all Tiger-Cats fans Identify and implement opportunities for new guest experience initiatives Assist in managing guest feedback systems to evaluate the impact of various guest experience initiatives Assist in upgrading the Secret Shopper Program and overseeing its execution at all events Other duties assigned by your Manager(s) Available to work evenings and weekends Superior customer service skills developed through previous experience in consumer facing roles Attention to detail and a genuine desire to improve and perfect overall guest experience An ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong verbal and written communication skills and problem solving ability

6 INTERN, MARKETING & EVENT PRODUCTION Assist with planning and execution of Marketing initiatives Participate in the overall season preparation and execution of Tiger-Cats promotions, mascot/community appearances, and other day to day operations of the business Support the department coordinators in event production Manage the department s event equipment, photo library, and other department resources. Create recaps of events and assist with presentation preparation. May conduct research projects to gain insights to share with the team Be the a point of contact for outside vendors during reoccurring game schedule Type up creative requests for the team s graphic designer for needed elements Complete research to help develop and plan the following year s marketing initiatives & calendar Assist with preparation of presentation materials for meetings Other administrative duties as assigned by the Marketing department Assist with general administrative work including but not limited to: maintaining/organizing files, data entry, copying, filing, and faxing Sports Management, Marketing, or Event Management major or enrollment in other program relevant to marketing and events Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Outgoing friendly personality with excellent customer service skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Interested candidates should be passionate about the long-term development of their experience and the creation of new initiatives Candidates will be required to work on some evenings and weekends depending on the TiCats schedule and events INTERN, STAFF WRITER & SOCIAL MEDIA Responsibilities: Write football-related editorial on deadline for ticats.ca and other outlets Post, update, and coordinate content on ticats.ca and other outlets Identify potential news story ideas relevant to the Tiger-Cats football club and its programs and initiatives Assist in content effort surrounding Tiger-Cats strategies/events Assist in posting content to and maintenance of TiCats social media accounts

7 Assist in creation of social media content, including video, photos and blog posts Monitor social media channels and Internet for mentions of the Tiger-Cats and discussions on related keywords Collaborate on social media projects and contesting to promote engagement and expand fanbase Assist in creating campaign reports as needed Assist with general administrative work including but not limited to: maintaining/organizing files, data entry, copying, filing, and faxing Current student in journalism, communications, or related area Quality writing and editing skills and copywriting. Prior sports media experience (football experience a plus) Organizational skills Demonstrated teamwork and work ethic Strong football & Tiger-Cats knowledge Must have a passion for CFL football Social media outlet and management experience Prefer candidates that have video and photo editing experience and/or graphic design skills Must have experience with various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Snapchat and Pinterest Will be required to work on some evenings and weekends depending on the TiCats schedule and events Interested candidates should be passionate about the long-term development of their experience and the creation of new initiatives INTERN, TICKET OPERATIONS, SALES & SERVICE The Hamilton Tiger-Cats Ticket Operations, Sales & Service Intern will acquire a complete understanding of the operations of the Business Development Department. Assist the Business Development, Customer Service, and Ticketing Operations Departments Learn Archtics, the Ticketmaster ticketing system, including the sales process and pulling reports Participate in setting up and executing Tiger-Cats game-days and other Business Development events Gain customer service experience while working in the Ticket Office on game-days Assist with general administrative work including but not limited to: maintaining/organizing files, data entry, copying, filing, and faxing Interested candidates should be passionate about the long-term development of their experience and the creation of new initiatives Any other duties assigned by your Manager(s) May be required to work various evenings and weekends

Add graphical elements and animation and render out final formats Assemble, prepare, and setting up equipment prior to filming, including tripods, monitors, lighting and cables Ability to find solutions to technical and/or other practical problems that may occur Post, update, and coordinate content on ticats.ca and other social media outlets Identify potential news story ideas relevant to the Tiger-Cats football club and its programs and initiatives Assist in content effort surrounding Tiger-Cats strategies/events Assist in posting content to and maintenance of Tiger-Cats social media platforms. This individual will be responsible for assisting with the planning, design, and promotion of all events at Tim Hortons Field. They will play a significant role in improving and executing departmental programs to ensure all targets are met with successful outcomes. 10 Assist in the management of the Game-day Operations Team at all Tiger-Cats home games and special events Assist in the preparation of the stadium for each stadium event set-up parking signage, gate barricades, field of play, and all specialty seating areas Coordinate and supervise all corporate partners with their game day activations at Tim Hortons Field Assist the Game-day Operations team with setup/tear down of all game day activations Support Stadium Events & Operations Coordinator with all operational details for game day and special event activations Superior event management skills developed through previous operations and event management experience Attention to detail and desire to improve best practices and procedures An ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong verbal and written communication skills and problem solving ability Previous leadership experience an asset INTERN, RETAIL OPERATIONS The Tiger-Cats Shop located at Tim Hortons Field offers a year round experience of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats brand. Our mission is to deliver to our fans the best shopping experience supported by the best products and exceptional customer service. The Tiger-Cats Shop is looking to fill a 7 month internship position with an individual committed to delivering consistent and memorable experiences to our fans. This role will also provide an opportunity for networking, and valuable retail operations and managerial experience. This individual will be responsible for assisting with event preparation & execution. Assist in the hiring and training of the Game-day Premium Seating Concierge Team. 12 Intern, Strength & Conditioning The function of the Strength and Conditioning Intern is to assist with the daily operation of the strength and conditioning program for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club. The Strength and Conditioning Intern is to represent the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club in a positive and professional manner at all times. The daily activities of the Strength and Conditioning Intern will be supervised by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Responsibilities & Duties Assist with implementing the daily warm-up, In-season workouts, corrective exercises and recovery techniques Assist with data collection using sport technology (Catapult/Coachmeplus) Responsible for daily set-up and clean up before and after every workout Responsible for maintaining the equipment and facility up-keep Qualifications & Skills Currently pursuing a undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or a related field Strong desire to pursue a career in Strength and Conditioning Prior experience working with collegiate, elite and/or professional athletes Currently working towards a certification in strength and conditioning (CSCS, CSCCa, FMS, etc.) Intern, Football Operations Assist Football Operations department with airport pickups for arriving and departing players. Assist Football Operations with planning & executing training camp, in-season schedule and team travel logistics. Assist Football Operations and Training Staffs with getting players to and from appointments Assist Coaches/Players and Front office with day to day tasks Various other Football Operations/Scouting tasks Data entry & analytics Previous experience in a pro sports atmosphere Strong knowledge of the sport (specifically within the CFL) Previous experience working closely with professional athletes, executives, etc. Strong desire to pursue a career with Team Operations Strong attention to detail and organization skills
