EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other related duties may be assigned. Leadership and Supervision Cultivate existing and develop new relationships with tenants with the goal of ensuring sufficient space and resources and access to services. Supervisory responsibilities for staff, upkeep of facility, planning events and, ordering and storage of supplies. Establish consistent, objective performance standard of accountability and evaluate personnel performance. Oversee the development of regular informational reports of the Center s activities and events. Business and Fund Development Create an annual budget and long term fund development plan which increases revenues to support the operations of the Center. Secure commitments of participation or donations from individuals or corporate donors. Communicate the mission of the Center to potential donors clearly and work to ensure that the Center is viewed by donors as capable of the highest quality of service. Develop, plan, implement or direct fundraising activities such as annual giving campaigns, concerts, golf events or walks, etc. Oversee the financial status of the Center, including development of short and long term financial plans, monitoring the budget and ensuring that sound financial controls are in place.
4 Strengthening Infrastructures and Operations Ensure the delivery of high quality services while managing for future growth. Lead, support and motivate staff. Strengthen internal communications with staff, create a positive work environment that supports consistency throughout the Center s operational methods. Program Development Develop new programs that meet the needs of those that are served and are aligned with the mission of the Center. Increase efficiencies and consistency throughout the Center s existing programs and services. Development of sports, health and wellness and recreation programs. Community/Public Relations Develop a public relations strategy designed to communicate the mission, programs, and services of the Center. Act as principle spokesperson for the Center to communicate the mission, programs and services to the community. Maintain relationships with community groups and agencies, ensure activities of the Center are coordinated with appropriate groups. Contact corporate representatives, government officials or community leaders to increase awareness of the centers activities or needs. MINIMUN QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: Principles and practices of management, supervision, training and fundraising; Laws and regulations affecting the Centers programs Capabilities and uses of word processing and data processing systems; Principles and Practices of event planning and monitoring; And Ability to: Plan, organize, supervise and coordinate the administrative functions of the Center. Effectively represent the Center s administration functions with community agencies and members of the public. Supervise, train and evaluate assigned personnel. Monitor and effectively assure compliance of tenant s contract terms. Compile and maintain accurate records. EDUCATION Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, education, human resource administration, finance, social work, sports management, sociology or a related field.
5 EXPERIENCE Five years of broad and progressively responsible management experience, personnel management, strategic planning, fiscal management, program development and administration or a combination of the above. Experience in fundraising, overseeing events and interacting with the general public and the community at large. Two years community leadership experience. Organizational skills, written and oral communication skills, planning and evaluation skills. REQUIREMENTS Applicants must meet all qualifications by final filing date.
