1 Grants Coordinator Faith&Gender Tubeho Neza Project Location: [Africa] [Burundi] Town/City: Bujumbura Category: Christian Commitments Job Type: Fixed term, Full-time Section I JOB DESCRIPTION/ PUBLICATION TEXT PURPOSE OF POSITION -To coordinate with partners faith and gender activities at national and cluster levels -Work with faith leaders, women, men, boys and girls in Karusi cluster. - Work closely with F&D, Gender and advocacy Managers MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES % Time Major Activities End Results Expected 100% Operationalize the NO Advocacy, Gender and Faith and Development strategies: Contribute to

2 and facilitate translation of the NO advocacy, gender, faith and development strategies and fully integrate them into the projects interventions. Ensure effective alignment of projects interventions with World Vision Christian identity, core values, principles and policies. Meaningful integration of advocacy, gender, and faith and development in projects interventions. 10% Capacity Building: Conduct analysis, identify gaps, plan and execute capacity building activities for projects staff and partners to ensure full integration of advocacy and gender, faith and development within the projects interventions in accordance with the national strategy and projects outcomes. A critical mass of staff and partners are equipped with sufficient skills and knowledge to implement the projects gender, advocacy, peacebuilding, faith and development interventions. 10% Gender equality and GBV prevention: Facilitate implementation of gender equality, gender harmony and GBV prevention approaches; ensuring adequate and equal participation of women, men, girls and boys into the projects interventions. Work with existing government, non-government and community structures to initiate and operationalize strategies to prevent and manage GBV, focusing on addressing the root causes of gender issues. Promote active engagement of men in gender and anti-gbv initiatives. - Evidence-based positive changes in attitudes, practices, and systems perpetuating gender related inequality and violence. - Active engagement of men in promoting gender equality, harmony - Effective participation of women and girls in community development and decision-making processes;

3 - Evidence-based equal access of women, men, boys and girls to resources. - Faith leaders have understood 15% Policy change: Facilitate the social accountability process through the CVA approach by building capacity of community members to analyse local policies, engage with local leaders and service provides, faith leaders, CSOs, monitor and evaluate social services. Work with National Office specialists and partners to effect fruitful linkage between local and national level advocacy, and ensure systemic collection and storage and documentation of local evidence and data. - Increased engagement of community stakeholders and members in social accountability processes - Regular monitoring and score card sessions; - Evidence of policy change as a result of WVB initiative or contributions - Regular and systemic documentation and conservation of data deriving from CVA process to support local to national level advocacy. 10% Peacebuilding programming: Facilitate implementation of peacebuilding activities and approaches focusing on promoting, inclusive, equal and active participation of women, men, boys and boys, people with disability, returnees and IDPs in conflict prevention and resolution initiatives, particularly through peace clubs, community dialogues. - Men, women, boys and girls, peace clubs participate actively in peace-building and social

4 cohesion; - Community members demonstrate holistic understanding of peace, and take individual and collective actions to prevent and manage conflicts. 10% Building Partnerships and public engagement: develop and strengthen meaningful partnerships with relevant project partners, including the administration, peoples representatives, public services leads, faith leaders, INGOs, CBOs, celebrities, Media and Civil Society Organizations. Organize or participate in local and national forums and networks focusing on advocacy, gender, and peacebuilding and contributing to child wellbeing. Represent World Vision in major advocacy, gender, and policy debates and peacebuilding to contribute to an environment that supports child wellbeing. - Increased participation and ownership by community members of projects interventions; - Enhanced visibility of World Vision interventions and impact 15% Social transformation and Transformational Development: Facilitate processes and approaches meant to address negative and harmful practices, attitudes and behaviours that hinder full attainment of child well-being, especially through mentality change approaches used by World Vision and partners. In collaboration with technical specialists and facilitators, ensure projects interventions in all sectors are translated into meaningful changes in terms of child care and protection, health care, education, nutrition, gender equality and equity. - World Vision serves as the catalyser of social transformation in the projects area of operation, - Community capacity to identify and address attitudes, practices, beliefs and structures that

5 hinder child well-being; as well as to utilize locally available assets to solve child care and protection, and poverty. 5% Integration of national/international campaigns: In collaboration with NO, programs leads and partners, ensure adequate integration of campaigns especially related with gender equality, peace-building and child protection and care, including It Takes a Nation to end Child Neglect (Humura Kibondo) campaign in the projects implementation, monitoring and evaluation. - Opportunities to integrate campaign activities are identified and utilized to disseminate key campaign messages; - Evidence-based impact of campaign activities and actions supported by World Vision 10% Risk reduction, disaster prevention and management: Work with technical specialists and community stakeholders to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate disaster prevention and management mechanisms. - Increased community capacity to participate in disaster, and conflict prevention and management processes. 5% Planning Monitoring & Evaluation: Support the integration of advocacy, gender, HEA, and peacebuilding issues projects implementation monitoring, evaluation and reporting processes. Work with DME specialists to develop/operationalize tools that can facilitate effective integration of advocacy, gender, and peacebuilding into the projects interventions and processes.

6 -Quality and evidence-based reporting in alignment with existing standards and tools. - Effective documentation of interventions and provision of impact/success stories to allow learning and replication. 5% Staff management: Provide supervision to staff ensuring full adherence to World Vision identity, principles, policies; and exercise team-building initiatives, and maximize their performance. - 5% Innovation: Facilitate the introduction of new, innovative practices, and advocacy, gender, peacebuilding and social transformation methodologies and integrate them within the projects activities Evidence of learning and subsequent improvements in gender and advocacy. Faith and development programming KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position: Minimum of Bachelors degree social sciences including Human Rights, Law, Political science, international Development, Gender and Development, or related fields. At least 5 years experience in managing advocacy, Gender, faith and Development, and peacebuilding projects, campaigns Proven experience in project management and resource mobilization

7 Committed Christian and above denominational diversity Proven computer skills with 5 years experience with World, Excel, Access, Internet 3 year experience in community engagement including with faith-based organizations; Proven experience in conflict resolution initiatives License, registration, or certification required to perform this position: Fluency in English, French and Kirundi Category A and/or B driving license is an added advantage Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience: Strategic, creative, and innovative thinking Successful track record in project management A successful track record in undertaking advocacy research, and in developing and implementing advocacy campaigns Very good communication skills in English, French and Kirundi Experience in coalition building and ability to rally coalitions and networks to take positions on specific policy issues Experience in external and community engagement with various partners including senior local authorities Experience of working on national and local level advocacy projects

8 Relevant understanding of human rights, social accountability and local governance issues Good understanding of World Visions programmatic activities Relevant understanding of national and local policies regarding gender, child protection, nutrition and food security, local governance, etc. Experience of working in Christian environment Ability to facilitate the creation of cross functional project teams and the development of national strategies. Understands work from a process point of view and uses measurement and accountability systems effectively. Excellent time-management and prioritisation. Is trusted and honest person. Demonstrates openness and transparency. Advocates for what is right for the organization and employees, even in the face of differing opinions. Respects and adheres to World Visions values, consistently acting in accordance with those values and practicing what he/she preaches. Is diplomatic and able to facilitate cross - team discussions and find practical solutions to integrate the campaign at different levels and in different teams. 9 Work Environment: Domestic travel: Up to 35% regular domestic travel to project areas International travel: Up to 5 % international travel On call: 10% in emergency and disaster situations, the position will be required to be oncall.
