1 Zonal Advocacy, Communications and Child Protection Coordinato Location: [Africa] [Malawi] Town/City: Blantyre Category: Child Development Job Type: Fixed term, Full-time Zonal Advocacy, Communications and Child Protection Coordinator JOB DESCRIPTION To provide technical leadership in the planning, implementation and reporting of advocacy, communications, child protection and social inclusion initiatives in the zone. The position will build capacity of staff and stakeholders and facilitate external engagement with key partners and duty bearers at the zonal level in line with national office strategy objectives. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES % Time Major Activities End Results Expected 20 Programme Planning and implementation Lead in the development and implementation of a Zonal Advocacy, Communications, CE&CE and Child Protection annual business plan

2 Support in the planning and implementation of advocacy, communication, child protection, social inclusion initiatives and Christian commitments in the zone Advocacy, child protection and Christian commitments initiatives integrated in Area Program and project plans Zonal Advocacy, Communications, CE&CE and Child Protection annual business plan timely developed and implemented 25 Monitoring and reporting Coordinate reporting for advocacy, child protection and CC at zonal level Lead in analysis, monitoring, and reporting on the implementation of policies and standards for advocacy Reporting on all child protection incidences on Integrated Incidence Management System (IIMS). Timely submission of quality progress reports (monthly, semi-annual and annual) Child protection incidences reported, followed up and closed. Reports and materials for advocacy prepared and accessible. 20

3 Capacity Building Build the capacity of staff and stakeholders in advocacy, child protection, cc models/initiatives in the zone Provide guidance to Zonal, District and AP staff on Child protection standards and reporting protocols Capacity building plan for staff and stakeholders being implemented. Key models on key advocacy, CC, child protection being implemented at AP level Child protection policy and standards are adhered to. 15 Networking and collaboration Represent World Vision Malawi at relevant advocacy platforms. WVM represented in advocacy platforms at Zonal level 10 People management Manage direct reports performance Timely submission of performance agreements and appraisals for direct reports

4 10 Learning and innovation Lead in identifying and documenting lessons and promising practices Lessons and promising practices are documented and shared KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES List education, knowledge & skills, licenses preferred, and all experiences required to perform this position in a fully competent manner. Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position: List academic requirements (if applicable), technical skills, or other knowledgerequired as a minimum qualification for this position. Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences, Humanities or its equivalent Knowledge of Malawi government operating systems including local governance structures Knowledge of the NGO environment in Malawi Strong drafting and analytical skills Excellent oral and written skills in English. Excellent training and facilitation skills. List additional work experiencerequired as a minimum qualification for this position.

5 Three to five years project management experience working in the NGO sector in areas of public policy advocacy, gender, and/or child rights. Strong experience in building capacity of staff and stakeholders in public policy advocacy, gender, and/or child rights. Experience is supervising staff Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience: List academic requirements, technical skills or other knowledgepreferred for this position. Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with diverse staff and partners and in a cross cultural environment. A self-starter who can handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
