World Vision Rwanda seeks to hire a highly qualified, dedicated and experienced national for the position of Youth Empowerment Officer. The position will be based in Kigali Cluster Office and reporting to the Cluster Manager. Purpose of the position: The purpose of Youth Empowerment Officer is for developing, implementing and evaluating youth empowerment project interventions. The Youth Empowerment Officerwill implement strategies that will strengthen the project as well as facilitate business growth in WV new AP. 2 Plan and implement project activities Schedule activities and facilitate youth mobilization Supervise and lead project activities as per Detailed Implementation Plan Develop, deliver and evaluate trainings to support youth to become more empowered Organize youth coaching and mentoring sessions for identified youth by big brothers and big sisters Promote the culture of saving through VSLAs Partner with ICT institutions to build the capacity of trained youth on ICT skills and knowledge Build the capacity of youth on entrepreneurship Initiate coaching and mentorship in the entrepreneurship Monitoring and Evaluation Monitor business progress of all youth entrepreneurs Conduct quick assessment of people with disabilities and marketable vocational skills in the area Monitor project activities in accordance with the project milestones, working

3 collaboratively with Cluster DME Specialist Lead the process of quick evaluation to assess the impact of project Partnering Link trained youth with MFIs (Vision Fund and others depending on the lowest interest service provider) Join other youth community initiatives Communication Produce and timely submit Monthly Management reports (MMR), Quarterly reports, and Annual Reports to Cluster Manager Document lessons learnt and better practices on Youth empowerment Model Ensure project information is easily available and accessible Child Protection and Wellbeing Monitor the impact (negative % positive) of THRIVE on the wellbeing of children. Ensure that project components, products and activities do not contribute to any form of child abuse or infringement of child rights Promote and sensitize communities, clients and other stakeholders about

4 childrens rights and responsibilities. Ensure that child protection policy and guidelines are strictly adhered to among all staff, communities and clients you interact with. Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training: Other Competencies/Attributes: Must be familiar with economic development models e.g. VSLA, LVCD/CVM, BF/Microfinance (VFR Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities. Willing to attend and participate/lead in daily devotions and weekly Chapel services. Perform other duties as required Required skills and experience Minimum of a Bachelors degree in economics, development and business studies.
