Cut ff a crner f the paper then pint ut that there are nw five crners. Challenge the grup t see hw many crners they can make with just ne paper in 30 secnds. When the time is up, ask students t add up all the crners f all the pieces t see wh has the mst. Include the crners f all the pieces that were trimmed ff the riginal sheet f paper. Annunce the number f ppcrn pieces by shwing students the nte card n which yu wrte the amunt. Then find ut which student came the clsest t that number. Hld up a kernel f crn and a piece f ppped crn. Remind the grup f the way Jesus multiplied ne small lunch t prvide fd fr ver 5,000 peple. Have the students return the kernels t the cntainer. Put kernels and ppcrn inside bins. Remember, as per parent requests, d NOT give students ppcrn t eat. Chse ne persn t sit in the middle f the circle and put n a blindfld. Let the students take turns silently placing their cins n the flr near the persn in the center. If the blindflded student thinks he hears smene and pints in the right directin, that persn is caught. Switch places and repeat several times. When finished, talk abut the game while directing students back t the principles fund in tday s lessn: serve withut lking fr applause. Hw did it feel t g unnticed in the game? Challenge the students t think f ways they can serve thers this week and d s as quietly and unnticed as they were when they mved the cins earlier in the game. A duble slap sends the slap in the ppsite directin. If smene slaps the flr ut f turn, he/she must remve that hand. All ther hands stay where they are. Explain that yu will designate a directin (left r right) then yu ll slap the flr with ne f yur hands. The hand clsest t yur slapping hand must then slap his r her hand, then the next clsest, and s n.
