Ask Gd t help kids begin t understand that even their time is nt their wn and they shuld spend their time n things that matter. Pray that He wuld help them understand which things actually matter and hw they can be better stewards f their time. Arrival Activities As children arrive, they have the ptin f chsing ne f the fllwing activities t participate in until Small Grup Cnnect starts. Games t Play This is a statin with different fun bard games t play. 4. Rck City Mural We ll create different murals n butcher paper each week based n what we re learning abut. 5. Number Yur Days [Talk abut Gd Bible Stry Review Applicatin Activity] Made t Play: an activity that encurages learning thrugh fllwing guidelines and wrking as a grup What Yu Need: Game Tiles Activity Pages, Game Bard Activity Page, Wise Chice Cards and Wasted Time Cards Activity Pages, prepared Clck Spinner Activity Page r Lead Small App, extra pieces f cardstck What Yu D: Divide the grup int tw teams f three r fur kids. (If yu have a large grup, either run tw different games with tw game bards r divide the grup int three r fur teams.) Lay ut the Game Tiles n the flr, hwever best they will fit in yur space. The Game Tiles are a timeline f yur day. The timeline starts with Time t Wake Up and ends with Bedtime. Fllw the layut n the Game Bard Activity Page fr the rder f the tiles. Intersperse the blank pieces f cardstck wherever there are blank tiles n the diagram. The gal is t be the first team t get all team members thrugh the entire day and n the Bedtime space. Here s hw the game is played: With each turn, teams spin the Clck t determine hw many spaces they can mve. Then they decide the best way t use their time (the number they spun) and, as a team, decide strategically wh frm their team will mve alng the game bard fr each spin. The bject is t mve members f the team tward Bedtime as quickly as pssible while aviding the Wasted Time spaces. Teams can mve any cmbinatin f peple and numbers f spaces they chse, as lng as the ttal number f spaces mved during any given turn adds up t exactly the number they spun. Fr example, if a team f three kids spins and gets the number seven, Kid #1 can mve three spaces, Kid #2 can mve fur spaces, and Kid #3 can stay put. The gal is t arrange the team s mves in such a way that the Wasted Time tiles are avided and the Wise Chice tiles are utilized. If smene lands n a Wise Chice space, they draw a Wise Chice Card and fllw the instructins. If smene lands n a Wasted Time tile, they draw a Wasted Time Card and fllw the instructins. Wise Chice Cards mve yu frward. Wasted Time Cards mve yu backward. Recycle the cards as needed during the game. The first team with all its members n the Bed Time space wins. When yu waste time, there are ften cnsequences. Let s say yu verslept because yu stayed up t late playing vide games. Playing vide games is nt a bad thing; it s actually fun! Hwever, spending t much time n vide games and nt spending enugh time getting rest is nt using yur time wisely. I enjy watching TV, but spending t much time watching TV shws and nt spending time with my family and friends is nt using my time wisely. Everything belngs t Gd even ur time. Gd gave us enugh hurs in a day t accmplish what He wants us t get dne. The imprtant thing is t think abut hw we can best use the time Gd has given us. One gal f this activity is t spark a cnversatin abut the imprtance f balancing yur time and priritizing what yu shuld spend time n. Give kids an Hurglass Activity Page. Ask kids hw many hurs are in a day. Give each kid 24 dt stickers ne fr each hur f the day. T help kids understand what can and cannt happen in ne hur, ask them fr examples f activities that take an hur. Hw lng is lunch at schl? Hw many TV shws can yu watch in an hur? Des anyne g t practice after schl fr a sprt r fr music? Hw lng is the practice? Ask kids hw much time they spend ding things they think are fun. Examples culd be: playing utside, reading, vide games, watching TV, sprts, crafts, etc. Fr each hur, kids put a sticker n their hurglass. Be prepared t help kids determine hw many stickers they need. If smething is nly a half hur, they can tear a sticker in half. Fr each sticker they use, kids write FUN n the sticker. Repeat the questin, Hw much time d yu spend...? using ther categries. Give kids examples f what type f activities culd be in each categry. Fr each sticker kids add t their hurglass, remind kids t write what activity the sticker represents. Fr example, if kids sleep fr eight hurs, they write SLEEP n eight stickers. If kids g t schl fr seven hurs a day, they write WORK n seven stickers. (Fund here: Then give each kid a Verse Spinner Activity Page, a Circle Activity Page, and a brad. Help kids fllw the directins n the Circle Activity Page t make a Verse Spinner. When everyne is finished, let kids pair up with a partner. One partner will spin the Verse Spinner t reveal a wrd f the verse, and the ther partner will say the verse, starting frm whatever wrd was spun.
