Open t any registered UB student fr primary and specialty care. D nt bill insurances, s it prvides care t all students. Assist students in finding cmmunity based care. Supprts Cunseling Services which schedules 12,000 cnsultatin appintments per year. Wellness Educatin Services utilizes the fee. Accessibility Resurces utilizes the fee. Prtin ges t help fund the services, but they receive funds thrugh ther entities. Small percentage f the fee ges t Judicial Affairs and Advcacy, specifically Title IX prgramming and persnnel. Increase t cver mandated negtiated salaries and fringe benefits. Tana Ah (GSA): Mst services are targeted t a yung adult ppulatin. In what ways can yu better assist parenting students, gender identity issues, and ther needs f the graduate student ppulatin? Sue: Want t better lk at hw graduate students are utilizing the services. 46% f students wh used ur services are graduate students. Are aware that graduate students are using the services. Wuld like t learn mre abut hw t better reach ut t the general graduate student ppulatin. In terms f gender identity, frm her experience, have seen students wanting t have a cnversatin abut their gender identity wuld prefer t have these discussins in a ne-n-ne cunseling sessin. Graduate students are different, which is why sme f the mandated prgrams may nt relate. Have nt perfected the prgrams yet, but are cnstantly lking at Barb: Due t malpractice and insurance purpses, we cannt meet with individuals wh are nt students at the university. Alicia (SBI): Is the ffice always busy and utilized? Sue: There are definitely times we are busy. We d the best we can t match up supply and demand based n the health needs f the year. Have nticed it usually takes till Sphmre year fr students t be aware that Health Services is in Michael Hall. It is a perceived prblem by students due t lack f cnvenience in terms f lcatin. Mre wrk needs t be dne in marketing and making it accessible. Alicia (SBI): Can yu speak directly students and, specifically, cmmuters wh d nt have RAs? Sue: Yes, that s a great idea Jimmy (UC): It wuld be very gd t have this infrmatin passed alng at rientatin Libraries The fee helps pay fr thusands f schlarly articles, e-jurnals, media and nline infrmatin Each and every year this price tag ges up. The specific search engines have been raising the prices t access these services. 4 Alicia (SBI): Wuld it be cheaper t purchase requests as needed rather than everything all at nce? A lt f undergraduate students may nt need different services. It wuld be helpful t track t see which types f students are using the services. That way we can distinguish wh is paying fr what search engine and accessing specific publicatins. Library: it is imprtant t prvide infrmatin n reliable, credible jurnals that students can trust. GSA: We lve the library. Infrmatin Technlgy Fee increase t cver cntractual licensing sftware UB Tech Supply a new service targeting t students fr IT Tech Supprt. Service n demand where a representative cmes t yu t assist yu with yur IT needs. The service is prvided n campus. We d cnduct annual surveys. Athletics & Recreatin Intercllegiate Athletics Fee ges t cver ur perating csts t cver travel, facility imprvement, title ix cmpliance and gender equity. We are asking fr the 2% inflatinary increase t cver additinal expenses Recreatin services g t Alumni and Clark Hall, intramural services, assist SA sprt club and scheduling practice times Asking fr an $8.00 increase fr facility imprvements. Renvatin f a spin rm and yga space. Purchasing indr/utdr equipment. Upgrades t Clark Hall. There has been 300,000 f purchases made in equipment fr Clark Hall. Wuld like t have security cameras n suth campus t prtect equipment. Want imprvements t dance studis and basketball curts n suth campus. Wuld lve a new standalne rec facility. Until that day happens, will cntinue t make imprvements n the Dan (SA): Have there been cnversatins as t where the Recreatin Fee is hused? Laurie: We did separate ut the fees t shw hw rec mney and athletic mney is being spent. The mney has t stay in the accunts and be spent the way they have prmised t be spent. Alicia: Why is Recreatin still reprting t Athletics? Laurie: That is the current rganizatinal structure. Until a decisin is made t separate the tw, it will nt change. Dan: What imprvements are being at Clark Hall and what is the timeline? Sharn: If we receive apprval fr the free increase, we will start wrk and hpefully have it cmpleted by next year. Jimmy: Students want the fitness center imprved.

Tanja (GSA): Have seen sme imprvements ver the past few years, especially career services. Wuld like t see mre prgramming targeted t graduate students. Barb: This is smething that we have paid mre attentin t the past few years. Tm: Have been paying mre attentin t Suth Campus, especially suth campus. Have dne a series f fcus grups t determine what are the needs f prfessinal/grad students n suth? Tanja (GSA): What is GUSF and where des it g? Laurie: GUSF cvers additinal csts related t accunting and verhead csts. Alicia (SBI): Student ppulatin has increased. Have yu dne anything extra with that mney? Laurie: We are aware enrllment is grwing. Currently wrking with departments t see what is needed by departments t meet these needs. Tanja (GSA): What percentage n graduate students that utilize the services? Alicia and Tanja: We are very interested in the different between graduate students and undergraduate students. Christina: Adding that statistic wuld be gd t add t the infrmatin we prvide each year. Transcript Fee We cver the cst f the transcript fee. Fulfill 40,000-50,000 requests per year. $5.00 per semester and it is gd fr life. Yu d nt have t pay a fee after yu graduate due t this cst. Academic Excellence and Success Fee Laurie: It is a fee that ges t research and quality f instructin and university research centers. T enhance the reputatin f the university thrugh these initiatives. Heart f the Campus is meant t imprve the quality f service fr the student. There have been mre upgrades t the classrms. Alicia: Why des tuitin nt cver these csts? Laurie: Tuitin levels are made by the state. This fee enhances the experience and the reputatin f the university t help pay fr university specific prgrams. Tanja: A pet peeve is that GSA prvides Graduate Research Supprt. We d nt receive a penny f supprt, but we still dn t receive funds. Laurie: We have an accunt f every dllar spent and can share infrmatin n hw graduate students are being supprted in research and financial supprt. Tanja: In what ways des this fee ges t faculty? Laurie: We can prvide that infrmatin t yu. Tanja: This is the fee we hear mst abut and are mst upset abut frm graduate students.
