2 Getting Started is a Breeze Easily add items to your home inventory list without the hassle of required fields Create hundreds of records by simply typing in the name of the item or by adding an image with a photo you ve take with your digital camera. Users can add up to a maximum of five images per item, including photos and electronic images such as receipts. There are no required fields other than an item name or an attached image. Just drag and drop images from your hard drive to the Home Inventory Bin.. Or just click on Add Item and enter the name of the item.

3 Create Detailed Records and Attach Proof of Purchase Add details and key documents to home inventory items to file a more complete insurance claim. Providing the purchase price can expedite the claims process and helps ensure fair reimbursement. Add as much - or as little - detail as you choose. Include a picture of a room and a listing of all items. Or photograph each item separately and include a complete description of its features and value. In addition to scanning price tags, warranties and receipts, it s easy to attach electronic receipts from items that you have purchased online. The details section allows you to record where you bought the item and any serial, make or model numbers. You can view receipts, along with images and other important details. There s plenty of room in the notes section to add information such as provenance for antiques, names of artists who produced artwork, and more.

4 Categorize by: Location a place or room in home, such as garage or den Category the type of item such as furniture or appliance Status describes any changes to the item, such as sold or donated Organizing the Data is Easy with Pre-set Categories Quicken Home Inventory Manager offers several ways to organize the data. You can use the pre-defined categories or create your own Customize categories in this section based on your specific needs. Create groups such as My favorite things or My husband s tools.

Users can sort reports, preview, and print reports in seconds The Inventory Value Summary shows you ata-glance the contents and worth of your entire dwelling. The Inventory Detail Report gives you a view of each item, including all the information you entered.

6 Integration with Quicken Personal Finance Software Quicken Premier, Home & Business, and Deluxe customers have been taking advantage of the text-only, home inventory feature in the software. All that stored data can now easily be imported into Quicken Home Inventory Manager where you can create and manage complete records. Additionally, you can import the value of all your belongings into Quicken Personal Finance Software to get a more accurate picture of your total net worth. After launching the application for the first time, just select to import data from the home inventory function in Quicken Personal Finance Software. What it showed me was that I neglected to put in a LOT of information which would really be helpful.
