The laboratories participatig i the testig followed the requiremets of ISO Stadard Traceability: The followig Certified Referece Materials were used to validate the aalytical data: BAS 466/1, 467/1, 475; ECRM 284-1, 286-1; SRM 73C, 101G, 121D, 160B, 344, 345, 348A. Homogeeity: This Certified Referece Material (CRM) was tested for homogeeity usig ASTM Stadard Method E826 ad foud acceptable. It was also examied by spark atomic emissio spectrometry ad foud to be compatible with the followig Referece Materials BAS 338, 431/1; BS HON T, HON U, SS3951, 81G, 85B, 179A, 321A; IARM 189A; IMZ 196; ECO ; NCS NS 20035b; SRM 293, 1171; Y 41340b. Validity statemet: ISO Guide 31 states that the certificatio should cotai a expiratio date for all materials where istability has bee demostrated or is cosidered possible, after which the certified value is o loger guarateed by the certifyig body. The certificatio of BS 85D is valid idefiitely. The certificatio is ullified if this CRM is damaged, cotamiated, or otherwise modified. Storage: This CRM must be stored i a cool, dry, o-corrosive eviromet. Source: The bar stock for this CRM was produced by Carpeter Techology Corporatio, Readig, PA. Form: This CRM is machied i the form of a disc approximately 38 mm i diameter ad 19 mm thick by Brammer Stadard Compay, Ic. Use: This CRM is iteded for use i spark atomic emissio, glow discharge, ad x-ray spectrometric methods of aalysis. Refer to ISO Guide 33 for iformatio about the use of Certified Referece Materials. Certified Area: The etire depth of the CRM may be used. Cautio: As with ay bar material, avoid spark atomic emissio spectrometric burs i the ceter of the CRM (5 mm radius), as some segregatio may be preset. Sample Preparatio: For best aalytical results, use the same method for preparig the aalytical surface o all referece materials as used for productio specimes.
