3 Emergency Shutdwn Prcedure Persnnel Injury: Turn ff the laser system with the "Emergency Buttn" r pwer switch. Call 911 and infrm the dispatcher t advise medical persnnel that the accident invlved lasers. Fire: Cntact Health Services first aid services available r Ext UW Plice assists if the abve services are nt available r Ext Cmplete incident reprt. Turn ff the laser system with the "Emergency Buttn" r pwer switch. Evacuate area as stated in yur Building Emergency Plan. Active wall munted fire alarm pull statin lcated at exits. 6 Operating Prcedure 1) Wear prtect glasses, glves and lab cat 2) Turn n the AC transfrmer switch 3) Turn n the cntrller pwer 4) Open the cling water valve 5) Pull the pneumatic valve dwnward t pen 6) Check the frnt cntrl panel and find any errr message 7) Push the NO WELD buttn n the cntrl panel (Turn n the RED light) 8) Set up the welding variables (Turn the KEY switch t PROGRAM) 9) If gt any unslved errr message n cntrller display, refer t the manual bk r cntact t the trainer (It might be needed an initial set up wrk) 10) Check the electrde tip cnditin (If the electrde tip s cnditin is bad, shuld be changed t new ne) 11) Turn the KEY switch t weld 12) Check the alignment f the upper electrde and lwer electrde with switching n the CLOSE GUN 13) Schedule select dial s number and the made welding prgram number shuld be same (If the number is different, the real welding will be fllwed the dial s number) (**Dn t turn the dial switch t 0,Zer, and D nt weld in this cnditin) (Check again befre the welding) 14) Regulate the welding pressure by using the pressure dial (This wrk will be needed an welding pressure gauge) (If yu needed t use the gauge, cntact t Dngwn) 15) The NO WELD buttn shuld be turned n when yu calibrate the welding pressure (If yu calibrate the welding pressure n welding, the pressure gauge will be ut f rder) (All f the respnsibility fr the pressure gauge are n the user) 14) Start welding (If the weld has made a spatter r splash, the welding cnditin shuld be changed t lwer than befre) 15) Check the temperature f the electrde tips (The electrde tips shuld be kept lw temperature befre the welding) (If yu weld cntinuusly, yu have t check the electrde tip s temperature frequently t prevent the sticking between electrde tips and the base materials) 16) Turn ff the cling water switch when yu want t change the electrde tips (Needed tl: Vise plier) (Shuld be handled carefully because the electrde and tips might be defrmed by the excessive frce) 17) Turn n the NO WELD buttn and turn the KEY switch t PROGRAM whenever yu want t change the value f welding variables 18) After finish the weld, all switches shuld be turned ff and cleaned up arund the AC RSW machine 19) Turning ff the main pwer switch is difficult t mve. S, please handle with wearing glves 20) Test specimens which finished welding shuld be marked n the surface, and keep in a bx safely. MME SOP Template v Page 6 f 7

7 Shutdwn Prcedure Turn ff the RSW machine s switches Pneumatic pressure valve, cling water valve, cntrller pwer and main pwer switch in rder Back-up DAQ welding signal data Turn ff the cmputer Clean-up The clean-up prcedures are as fllw: Clean up the wrking table after weld; any kind f water, weld specimens and tls Scrap metal shuld be dispsed prperly.
