2 WHO WE ARE The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern United States, Inc. (GACC South) was founded in 1978 to promote and support bilateral trade between Germany and the U.S. We are a private, non-profit organization and serve as the official representative of German Industry and Trade in the Southern U.S. Through our services and activities we have built an extensive membership network that currently consists of more than 700 members, making the GACC South one of the largest bilateral Chambers of Commerce in the South. As a membership organization we offer excellent services including networking events, consulting and career services to support German companies in the U.S. Other German American Chambers of Commerce have offices in New York and Chicago, with branches and chapters across the country. Our organization is an integral part of the network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs) with 130 offices in 90 countries around the globe. These organizations are under the direction of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) in Berlin.
