5 Micro Enterprises Consultants MECs are drawn from the community, trained and placed locally to provide handholding support to existing and potential entrepreneurs on a chargeable basis. 350 MECs across the State / Wide range of services provided by MECs Identification of right business opportunities / Identification of right beneficiaries Entrepreneur orientation and training Development of Business Plan Credit linkages - financial and other institutions Enterprise setting-up and market linkages Performance tracking and advisory Book Keeping & Accounting

22 IT Enterprises 63 Data Processing Units / 5 Hardware Units More than 2500 women employed Takes up government orders for IT related work such as data entry (Provident fund office, Voters list, Ration card, RSBY works, Disability Census, BPL surveys etc)

34 Way Forward Strengthen the products/services and value-chains to bring more economic value to the products/services. Bring in various expert institutions (Govt. and Pvt.) to upgrade women s products/services. Increase women s capacities to look at better product quality and designs, while raising their knowledge and confidence about new markets for their products. Address major topics such as design, strengthening of the business side for sustainability, costing, production capacities, value additions, new product categories or diversification and the peculiarities or characteristics of different types of market.
