The inspection was performed for the benefit of the City of Taylor, and ASTI acknowledges that said party may rely on the contents and conclusions presented in this letter report. ACM Inspection and Results David Amir of ASTI s Site Remediation Services (Accreditation No. A16059) conducted the inspection of the subject residence for suspect ACMs and hazardous materials on June 118, Mr. Amir inspected all accessible areas of the residence. ASTI made all efforts to obtain representative samples from all materials which were reasonably obtainable. The ACM inspection was done in accordance with the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) requirements. Mr. Amir s accreditations are provided as Attachment A. The structure is a two-story house with a basement. The exterior is constructed with wood and asphalt siding finish. The materials that were sampled at 6485 Westpoint Street are as follows. Plaster/Plaster Debris Wallboard and textured paint 9 x 9 floor tiles and associated mastic Two-layered flooring Wallboard Mudjoint Compound

2 Blown-in insulation Linoleum flooring Caulks Window glazing HVAC expansion joint Duct tar Asphalt roofing and siding ASTI collected 34 bulk samples of the suspect ACMs and 33 sample layers were analyzed. The bulk samples were transmitted under chain-of-custody protocol to Sanair Technologies Laboratory in Powhatan, Virginia for asbestos analysis using polarized light microscopy with dispersion staining (PLM/DS) in accordance with the US Environmental Protection Agency s (US EPA s) Interim Method for the Determination of Asbestos in Bulk Building Materials (EPA 600/R-93/116), December 1993). Review of the analytical results revealed identified the following materials were identified as ACM. MATERIAL LOCATION QUANTITY RESULTS Two-layered Flooring Floor Tile Debris Kitchen ~ 200 square feet 20 % Chrysotile Bagged for disposal in back bedroom 1 square foot 7% Chrysotile According to classification guidelines set forth in NESHAP, linoleum flooring is classified as Category I non-friable ACM. The flooring was identified in the kitchen of the house. The flooring appeared to be in good condition. The flooring in its current condition represents minimal risk of fiber release. However, if any future work, such as renovation or demolition, would disturb the materials, ASTI recommends this ACM be removed by a licensed abatement contractor using Class II removal techniques and engineering controls. If the flooring is rendered friable during removal, Class I removal techniques and engineering controls should be implemented with all waste generated during the removal of friable ACMs disposed of as asbestos-containing waste. The floor tile debris can be disposed of as non-friable ACM along with the kitchen flooring.

Quantitative transmission electron microscopy is currently the only method that can be used to determine if this material can be considered or treated as non-asbestos containing.
