The UNIT PRICES offered by BIDDER indicate the amount to be added to or deducted from the CONTRACT SUM for each item-unit combination. UNIT PRICES include all costs to the Agency, including those for materials, labor, equipment, tools of trades and labor, fees, taxes, insurance, bonding, overhead, profit, etc. The Agency reserves the right to include or not to include any of the following UNIT PRICES in the Contract and to negotiate the UNIT PRICES with BIDDER. 3 Answers / Clarifications to Questions Raised 1. Are unit prices and allowances to be included within the Base Bid? a. Yes, see Section Unit Prices and Allowances. 2. When are substitutions and questions due? a. All substitution requests must be in the offices of ADC Engineering, Inc. at least 10 days prior to the bid date (AIA SCOSE 3.3.2). No substitutions are allowed unless approved in the addendum. Requests received after this date will not be accepted. All questions must be submitted in writing to ADC Engineering, Inc. at least 10 days prior to the bid date (AIA SCOSE 3.2.2). No questions will be answered after this date. Any questions prior to bidding shall be directed to ADC Engineering. All responses will be made in the form of addenda to the bid documents. 3. Who do we contact for a site visit? a. Coordinate additional site visits with Mr. Philip Mauney at If we are unable to attend the bid opening will results be made available that day after the opening? a. Official notification of bid results including issuance of a notice of intent to award will not be posted until MUSC verifies bid bonds, contractor license, etc. That normally takes anywhere from one to ten days. With a 2:00 pm bid opening time, it certainly will not occur on the day of the bid opening. However, since bid openings are public we don t have a problem with letting a bidder know verbally by request what everyone bid. 5. In the specs it states 12% on the MWBE is that a requirement or goal? a. Goal not requirement. 6. Will the pictures from the interior investigations be made available? a. See Addendum Is there a badging requirements and cost required by MUSC? a. Submit the MUSC/MUHA Contractor Badge Request provided in the documents. There is no cost. 5 SECTION ADDENDUM 1 UNIT PRICES AND ALLOWANCES PART 1 - GENERAL 1.01 SUMMARY A. Unit Prices 1. The unit price item, unit of measure and add/deduct price are included on the Bid Form. Provide unit prices for the specific items listed on the Bid Form. A lump sum cost for the quantity amount is to be included within the Base Bid for each item. No. Item Base Bid QTY. Unit of Measure 1. Repointing 200 SF 2. Brick Casing Replacement 400 LF 3. Window Framing 200 LF 4. Wood Epoxy (1 Deep) 50 SF 5. Slate 200 EA 2. The exact locations of these repairs are not defined in the Construction Documents. These areas will be identified during the demolition/construction process. 3. Maintain a daily log of all unit price quantities used based on contract requirements. 4. Notify Owner in writing when 80% of contract quantity is used for each unit price item. 5. Owner is not responsible for quantities which exceed 80% unless Owner is notified in writing, prior to exceeding these quantities, and contractor receives written approval to proceed. 6. Provide photographs or videotape documentation of actual quantities used. 7. Locate quantities, and show their locations on elevations or plan view drawings. Provide corresponding photographic or videotape documentation. This is required with each Application for Payment requesting payment for quantities unused. Unit Prices and Allowances
