3 Grossmont College Performing and Visual Arts Center Project Estimate : $42.7 M Removal of Buildings 22 A-C Construction of a new 38,680 square foot (SF), 390-seat teaching and performance theater The theater will include the new Hyde Gallery Footing layout and chilled water reroute work are ongoing First concrete pour of deep Orchestra pit poured on 4/9/18. Construction Duration: December 2017-October

4 Grossmont College Science, Math and Career Tech Complex Building 31 Renovation Project Estimate: $14.3 M Remodel of Bldg. 31 including classrooms, labs, and offices Outdoor gathering area All tenants relocated to swing space over winter break Bids received and under review Construction start May

5 Grossmont College Interim Swing Space-Phase 1-3 Project Estimate: $3.4 M Phase 1 provides Building 31 swing space in Parking Lot 5 South For phases two and three of this project, the interim space will house programs affected by construction from Buildings 21, 24, 27 & 36 Construction complete. Buildings occupied and functional. 5

14 Analysis of Construction Costs Construction Trends & Escalation Outlook Typical escalation factor used in the construction industry has ranged from 3% to 4.5% through 2016 National total construction spending in 2017 was forecasted to finish at $1.263 billion, an increase of 6% over 2016 Escalation has shot up to an average of 22% in the greater San Diego market. Factors include: A rebounding economy Mega projects in Nevada and Arizona Construction start is up by 6% Contractors are busy and resources (labor pool) is at an all-time low Commodities are trending higher than normal Extensive amount of local school bonds passed in 2016 Materials: substantial increases in the costs of cement, copper pipe and lumber. 14
