2 1-1 Questions and Answers Q1. At the job walk the consultant mentioned that the Task Items contained the estimated quantities for the project. However, upon further review, they are not in that section. Can the consultant please provide us the estimated quantities for the work? A1. The updated Task Item specification (including quantities) is attached hereto as part of this Addendum 1. Q2. Can you please provide us with the job walk sign in sheet? A2. The sign in sheet is attached hereto, as part of this Addendum 1. Q3. Can an acrylic coating be used instead of the specified silicone coating on the stucco façade? A3. No. The coating used on the façade must be a silicone elastomeric coating product as specified in the bid documents. Q4. Does the silicone coating need to be applied to the underside of soffit of overhangs? A4. Yes. The silicone coating will change the color and appearance of the building, and therefore will need to be applied to all exterior stucco façade areas. This includes soffits of overhangs, gables at the top of the sloped roofs, and inset walls that will need to be accessed from second floor roofs. Q5. Will site visits for sub consultants be permitted prior to bid due date? A5. Yes. Contact IVC s Construction Manager for the project Anna Petrossian to coordinate additional site visits. 3 Q6. How are the gutters attached to the façade? Will replacement require alterations to the metal sloped roofing? A6. The gutter replacement is shown in Detail 5/BE3.0. As specified in Note 3 of the gutter replacement detail, removal of the existing drip flashing at the end of the metal sloped roof will be required to install new membrane and gutter sheet metal. Q7. Are the wider coping caps at the third floor roof parapet being replaced? Are coping caps at higher walls on roofs (approximately 6 feet high) being replaced? A7. Yes. All coping caps throughout the building are being replaced. Q8. Can equipment be driven over pavement? Can equipment be driven over grass? A8. General requirement: all construction activities to be coordinated with and approved by college prior to start of constriction. It is required that at least 48-hour notice is given. Construction Equipment such as Boom lifts can be driven over pavement. Advance notice to be given to college before equipment can be driven over grass. Scaffolding or other means will be required to access construction areas (such as third floor gutters over second floor roofs) not accessible from boom lifts.
