1 MPA CONTRACT NO. H275-C1 HANSCOM AIRCRAFT RESCUE FIRE FIGHTING / UNITED STATES CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION FACILITY L.G. HANSCOM FIELD, BEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS March 1, 2018 The attention of Contractors submitting General Bids for the above references project to the following Responses to Questions and/or RFI s. ADDENDUM 1 ISSUED ON FEBRUARY 16, 2018 Summary of Question 63: Please confirm that the extruded aluminum shade housing is to be furnished and installed by the shade contractor. Furnishing and installing the extruded aluminum shade housing fascia and end caps is a requirement of Section SHADES. Refer to Addendum 2 for additional clarification. Summary of Question 64: There is a Drawing A-713 that is in the drawing set but is not listed in the Contract Drawing List IIB- 1. Please advise. Drawing A-713 is part of the Construction Documents Set. Refer to Addendum 2 for clarification. Summary of Question 65: Pages 203 & 204 of 1917 of the Specifications are Staging/Laydown/Construction Management Plan. These plans appear to be for work at the existing terminal. Please confirm that these plans do not apply to this Project. The two diagrams shown on Pages 203 and 204 of 1917 do not apply to this project and shall be disregarded. Refer to Addendum 2 for clarification.

2 Summary of Question 66: Please provide pictures, equipment specs/data sheets (if possible) of all equipment to be disconnected and relocated to the new facility. Equipment locations, descriptions and/or photographs can be found on Sheet A800. Summary of Question 67: None of the sketches mentioned in the Addendum are attached. Is the bid dated going to be pushed back since Monday the 19 th was a holiday? There were no sketches issued as part of Addendum 1, there was is a separate file on the CD issued, that contains complete re-issued drawings. The bid will not be pushed back because of the holiday on the 19 th. Summary of Question 68: Can we still submit a proposal if we have not been prequalified? Only prequalified General Contractors may submit a bid but subcontractor bidding is open to all subcontractors. Summary of Question 69: In Question 17: the Detail that is referenced 11/A805 seems incorrect, should it actually reference Detail 12/A705? Correct, it should reference Detail 12/A705. Summary of Question 70: In Question 29: Detail 1/A707 states metal pan is by but in Question 25, it indicates that it is by Please clarify which is correct. As noted in the response to Question 25, there is no metal flashing in that Detail. The extruded metal panning or sill is by the Window Sub Contractor. Summary of Question 71: In Question 29: Details 1, 3 and 8/A712 and Details 1, 2 and 6/A713 states metal flashing by Per Question 26, they are by , and as stated in Specification Sections (Items 1.2.A.2, Item 2.7.A, Item 2.7.E, and Item 3.12.A and C) and (Item 2.6.B and Item 2.4.B). Please clarify.

3 In general, flashing responsibilities fall into the following categories: Flashing that is a component (within or capping) of a masonry wall system is part of Section Unit Masonry, as indicated in that Section. Flashing that is a component (caps, closures, flashing, exterior metal soffits, edging etc.) of Section Aluminum Composite Material Panels at the interior or Metal Wall Panel Systems at the exterior and is part of the General Contractor s Subcontractor work. All of flashing, that is not associated with the masonry walls or metal wall panels and cladding is part of Section Sheet Metal Flashing. Summary of Question 72: Addendum 1 included revised Thermoplastic membrane Roofing Specifications with 140 mph wind speed performance requirement. We contacted the manufacturers and 120 mph is the max wind speed design offered. Is it the intent to have the system designed to meet the requirement and warrant the system for the standard 72 mph, which is what is typical for most Massport Projects. The site design wind speed is listed as 140 mph. The warranty must meet the requirements of Article 1.4- D. and F., including the Windstorm Classification: Class 1A-75 and the listed Wind Uplift Resistance. Summary of Question 73: The Disk sent as part of Addendum 1 does not contain Sheet A/805 as mentioned in RFI responses 2/14/18, Question 17. There is no sheet A/805. Addendum 1 contains sheet A705, which was not originally issued by the printer, as part of the original submission. Summary of Question 74: Section p6-2.5A2.a calls for the fascia to be.050 aluminum, but the edge details on A-710 show the fascia having approximately 1-4-3/4 face which would be too large for.050 aluminum to span. Is it possible to have a smaller snap-on fascia with an extender to achieve the total fascia height shown? The fascia panels are part of Section Metal Wall Panel System, General Contractor Subcontractor work, and not part of Section Sheet Metal Flashing and Trim. We have confirmed with the basis-of-design contractor that this can be fabricated in a single piece. Summary of Question 75: Who owns the 1/8 extruded interior flashing to match the window frame, shown in Detail 8/A705?

4 That is not flashing but rather an aluminum sill finish material within the Apparatus Bay and is part of the scope in Section ALUMINUM PANEL COMPOSITE MATERIALS. Summary of Question 76: The Unit Price Bid Form is divided into 4 areas. There is no Area 4 on A001, could you please explain what Area 4 represents. Should all 4 areas add up and equal the GC bid total? As noted in the Bid Area Breakdown Diagram on Sheet A001, Area 4 encompasses all areas outside of Areas 1, 2 and 3, defined in the diagram. Yes, the costs for all 4 areas should add up to the GC bid total. Summary of Question 77: Will 2 full time non-working escorts, 2 full time escort vehicles, and full time SIDA badged gate guard be required for this project? Please elaborate if they can be working on the project and not be dedicated solely to that task. Refer to Specification Division IIB, 14.10, 66.2 and 67.2 Summary of Question 78: In Article 75 of Division IIB of the Specification, can you confirm that the cost for premium time electricians is by the Electrical Filed Sub Bidder, as they are the ones that know how many shutdowns they might need and also employ electricians. In Article 75 of Division IIB, where it states Contractor that is intended for the General Contractor, where it states Electrical Contractor, that refers to the Electrical Filed Sub Bid Contractor and where it refers to the Contractor s Electrical Contractor is considered part of the GC Bid. Summary of Question 79: Please confirm no corner guards at interior outside corners where Ceramic Tile is the wall finish. There are no corner guards at outside corners at Ceramic Tile; refer to 17/A504 for corner condition. Summary of Question 80: Please confirm GC is responsible for furnishing new FF&E items, including assembling and installation and items identified in Drawings A801 and A802.

5 The GC is responsible for furnishing, assembling and installing all FF&E items identified in the Documents, including items all items in Drawings A800 and A801. Summary of Question 81: Is Room 220 Secured Storage Resinous Flooring or Resilient Tile? The flooring in Secured Storage Room 220 is Resinous Flooring, as shown in the Finish Plan on Sheet A501. Summary of Question 82: Confirm that entrance mat locations shown in the Finish Plan is correct. The three locations shown in the Finish Plan to receive walk-off mats is correct: Entry 100, Entry 200 and Exit 201. Summary of Question 83: Please provide Drawing A705. Drawing A705 was provided in Addendum 1, please refer to that Addendum for additional information. Summary of Question 84: Please confirm that Specification Sections , , and are part of Filed Sub Bid. Those Specification Sections are not part of the Filed Sub Bid; please refer to Addendum 1. Summary of Question 85: Does 1/A702 represent the exterior wall condition along Line 5 between E & E.5? The 1/A702 Section location is identified in the Floor Plan Sheet A200, between Lines 4 and 5. Summary of Question 86: Where do you show Storefront Types S4, S5, S6 and Curtain Wall C3 and C4 in Elevation?

6 These Elevations are shown on Sheet A704. Summary of Question 87: On Sheet A501, please confirm PTL base reference should be PCL. Please refer to Addendum 1 for clarification. Summary of Question 88: Drawing C-203 refers to Detail 8/S301 for the new exterior concrete apron detail, but Detail 8 does not exist. Please clarify. Disregard any reference to 8/S301, since that detail does not exist. Refer to Details 1/A301 and 7/A301 for additional info pertaining to the Apron concrete slab. Summary of Question 89: Furnishing and installation of the conduit, cable and telecommunications manhole require for the communications and electrical feeds to the new ARFF building as shown in Drawings E-100 and E- 101 is to be completed by the filed sub bid electrical contractor. Refer to Addendum 1 and reissued drawings E-100 and E-101 for clarification. Summary of Question 90: The Specifications removed from the filed sub bid Electrical (260520, , and ) are related only to the removed sheets E-107 through E-109. Therefore, GC is to furnish, install or relocate signs including required conduit and junction cans as needed and shown on sheets E-107 through E-109. Correct, the General Contractor s Subcontractor is responsible for this work.
