2 INTRODUCTION The Fifth International Conference of Environmental Engineering (ICoEE-2017) Environmental issues have been increasing as a result of many factors that lead to potential detrimental effect towards our children's future. Our Department of Environmental Engineering (DEE) for the past 34 years has been spending a tremendous efforts to contribute ways in order to reduce and minimize global environmental pollution. To commemorate our age, we held this 5th international conference as a means to gather all environmental engineers and scientists and seek best consensus for better future. Permasalahan lingkungan semakin meningkat saat ini sebagai akibat dari banyak faktor yang menyebabkan efek merusak terhadap masa depan anak-anak kita. Departemern Teknik Lingkungan, ITS selama 34 tahun menyediakan waktu dan berjuang sekuat tenaga untuk berkontribusi menurunkan dan meminimisasi pencemaran lingkungan global. Kami menyelenggarakan seminar internasional sebagai sarana berbagi dan berdiskusi bagi para akademik dan praktisi di bidang teknik lingkungan, serta berupaya mencari konsensus bersama dalam merumuskan solusi terhadap permasalahan lingkungan saat ini maupun di masa mendatang. Topik utama acara ini adalah Sustainable Development of Environment towards Climate Change Resiliency, mempertimbangkan bahwa perubahan iklim telah menimbulkan dampak luar biasa di berbagai sektor kehidupan. Departemen Teknik Lingkungan senantiasa berusaha untuk memberikukan sumbangsih tidak hanya kepada masyarakat namun juga terhadap pengetahuan. The main topic of this event is Sustainable Development to Environment in Facing Climate Change, taken into account that climate change has huge ipact towards every aspect of our life. DEE strives to contribute to not only society buat also to the knowledge updates. 1

Sub theme 5: Environmental Sanitation and Phytoremediation Subtheme 5 includes but not limited to: onsite sewerage system, contaminant removal by vegetation, green space study to reduce pollution and climate change Sub theme 6: Environmental Management Subtheme 6 includes but not limited to: environmental management system, decision making in environmental system, environmental impact assessment IMPORTANT DATES Early Bird 1. Prof. Joni Hermana, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Surabaya Prior his current position as Rector of ITS, he is Head of Laboratory of Air Pollution Control and Climate Change from. He works on many activities related to climate change and be active promoting sustainable means to prevent and mitigate emission. 2. Prof. Fujiwara Akimasa, Hiroshima University, Japan Prof. Fujiwara Akimasa is a prominent professor in the transportation field, Graduate School of International Development and Cooperation, Hiroshima University. He has published many articles and high quality journals in this field. His research fields include: Transportation planning and transportation policy evaluation; Sustainable development and transportation; Activity-based travel demand modeling, and transpiration demand modeling. 3. Prof. Lin Cheng Fang, National Taiwan University, Taiwan Prof. Lin Cheng Fang is a professor in Graduate Institute of Environmental Engineering, National Taiwan University (NTU), Taiwan. While doing research and supervision of his students, he has served as the Director of the same Graduate Institute since He has worked on many subjects but most are spent on membrane technology. His other research fields include: environmental emerging contaminants, Sanitary Engineering, Solid Waste Engineering, and Water Supply PUBLICATIONS (JOURNALS) We have successfully made special collaboration with these journal editors. The remaining papers that are not selected to journals will be published in a proceeding with valid ISBN.
