1 KidZone Administrative Assistant + Firehall Director Job Description + Application This position is to lead with two distinct roles to support the creation of dynamic environments of learning and life change for kids. The purpose and goal of this ministry is to help each child to grow in Kid- Zone s purpose of helping kids love God in their hearts, homes and world. This reflects Riverwood s L3 living: L1 - living intimate with God, L2 - living in deep community and L3 - living a life of influence. The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative leadership and support, and assist with logistics of all programs under the umbrella of children s ministry from infant to grade 5. The KidZone Firehall Director will develop and lead teams of Christ followers to be equipped and inspired to serve the children and families of the Firehall. Personal Qualifications A growing yet mature follower of Jesus, called to children s ministry A passion for the families and children of this generation and the next A commitment to modelling a life of faith and discipleship A natural ability to relate well to both children and their parents. Capable of seeing the big picture but competent in dealing with details Passionate about enabling others for success Creative and energetic Able to effectively lead teams of volunteers and delegate tasks A commitment to Riverwood s statement of faith, vision, core values and ministry priorities Professional Qualifications Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field of work Developed administrative and organizational skills Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills Detail oriented, able to multi-task and organize large projects with minimal supervision Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office Strong communication skills Recruitment philosophy and strategy

2 Administrative Assistant 16 hours/week Recruit and lead volunteer teams to assist with facility care and prep Assist with equipping families, helping parents expand their spiritual influence within their homes Provide administrative support and manage volunteer information Oversee facility care for all KidZone spaces Manage resources required for all KidZone programs and events Coordinate communication with volunteers and parents Be an active participant in the department s overall direction and leadership Work with KidZone site directors to better help them succeed in their ministries Actively participate in the church s organized disciple-making strategies KidZone Firehall Director Responsibilities 4 hours/week Recruit passionate volunteer teams to minister to children Lead volunteers to be skilled, equipped and inspired in their ministries Work with site pastors to develop unity between adult and children s ministries on site Assist with equipping families, helping parents expand their spiritual influence within their homes Manage volunteer teams, including finding subs when necessary Oversee volunteer care for the team serving at the Firehall Manage resources required for KidZone at the Firehall Coordinate communication with volunteers and parents Actively participate in the church s organized disciple-making strategies (including attending a service regularly) Convictions As a staff member at Riverwood, you are expected to whole-heartedly sign on and affirm God s distinct thumbprint on Riverwood as defined in our statement of code of conduct, faith, mission, vision, values and goals.
