3 Purpose of the role : To provide project leadership and management, change management, analysis and monitoring for selected projects within ADHB Waitemata DHB Funding portfolios To understand and actively manage DHBs services stakeholder relationships for selected projects. Use population approaches, data and other evidence based strategies to assist with planning and delivery of service improvement projects (where required) KEY TASKS EXPECTED OUTCOMES Project Management Project manage specific projects including working with the Funding and the Health Outcomes Teams, Clinical teams and members, providers and stakeholders Provide detailed project plans Provide regular reports on progress of the projects to the Funding & Development Manager / Senior Programme Manager Liaise with stakeholders and project team members and regional partners to ensure the consistency of project development and implementation and regional agreed locality based health care intent Write relevant board reports and Ministry of Health reports as required including CPHAC reports Monitor and evaluate project delivery against required project outcomes and initiate progress reviews as appropriate Develop, understand and actively Identify and maintain relationship with key Health Services manage DHB stakeholder relationship stakeholders within the district, regional and national levels to support the project(s) Involve key stakeholders in project initiatives as appropriate Actively work with Maori and Pacific providers and stakeholders as appropriate Represent ADHB Waitemata DHB position with clinical and other stakeholders (including other DHBs) Close liaison with Funding and Health Contribute to Service development projects as required Outcomes Team Reducing inequalities and population Ensure all projects have a focus on reducing health inequalities health gain and lead to measurable health gain Strategic and business planning process Positive and constructive relationships Statutory & Treaty of Waitangi obligations Provide input, report and analysis for the development of Auckland and Waitemata DHB's strategic and annual plans and Statement of Intent regarding your projects Working in close collaboration with the other service Auckland DHB Waitemata DHB staff Stakeholders have a known point of contact within Auckland DHB Waitemata DHB Ensures the professional and political integrity of WDHB by carrying out all functions in compliance of the Treaty of Waitangi and by demonstrating a serious commitment to keeping the treaty alive Waitemata District Health Board -JOB DESCRIPTION - Page 3

5 PERSON SPECIFICATION POSITION TITLE: Project Manager Minimum Qualification Tertiary qualification in management, health or science Experience Previous experience of successful project management in a similar background Change management experience Relationship management experience Budget management experience Competencies Project Management skills Developing leadership skills Commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi Excellent ability to forge new relationships and maintain existing ones Excellent communication skills (verbal and presentation) Good level of political acumen and judgment Budget management skills Meet imposed and selfimposed deadlines Strong report writing skills Good analytical skills Strong computer skills Problem solving skills Ability to have an inclusive approach across the sector and to facilitate new approaches to health services development.
