1 Job Description Major Giving Fundraiser Job Title: Reporting to: Responsible for: Location: Hours: Major Giving Fundraiser Major Giving Manager ncome generation from major donors, corporate partners and trusts Noah s Ark Children s Hospice, Barnet (some home working will be considered) 9am to 5.30pm (Full-time) Background Noah s Ark Children s Hospice is a charity on the up, in a period of transformational change and growth in order to offer a wider breadth of care for more seriously unwell babies, children and young people, and their families. The charity s growth has included building exciting major donor, corporate and trust relationships, leading to 2017 being the charity s most successful year for Major Giving. The post-holder will play a key role in continuing to grow this fundraising division and in doing so help the charity to raise the funds required to meet an ever growing demand for its services. Job Purpose To help Noah s Ark achieve its necessary growth we are looking for an ambitious, dedicated and reliable individual to play a key role within the busy Fundraising Team. The Major Giving Fundraiser will ensure current supporters feel valued as well as working with the Major Giving Manager and Assistant Director of ncome Generation to grow our multi-year gifts. Working closely with the wider Major Giving team (Corporate Partnerships Manager and Trust Fundraiser), they will help to manage and build the Major Giving Team s donor pipeline, work on our high value events and produce excellent research on new supporters. Principal Responsibilities To maximise income from major donors, primarily through the charity s annual Gala Dinner, in order to enable Noah s Ark to provide a wider breadth of care for an increased number of children with lifelimiting and life-threatening conditions and their families To work with relevant team members to identify and implement new income opportunities from major donors, corporate partners and trusts and foundations To build on and manage existing relationships with supporters Relationship management: Develop positive relationships with a portfolio of major donors, as well as key stakeholders at some of the charity s corporate partners and trust supporters Devise and implement bespoke plans for each supporter on the post-holders portfolio, thinking creatively and entrepreneurially to ensure objectives for each relationship are met Prepare and deliver engaging and confident presentations to corporate partners (both at one-to-one level and at a much larger scale), outlining Noah s Ark s progress and plans, and overviewing the success of each partnership Monitor and log developments with all relevant stakeholders Ensure that all funders receive timely and relevant correspondence and updates about the work of the charity (working with the Trusts Fundraiser if necessary)
2 Work with Finance to ensure accurate logging of all Major Giving income upply supporters with promotional collateral as and when required Cross-team work / internal collaboration Work closely with the Major Giving Manager, Corporate Partnerships Manager and Trust Fundraiser to help implement plans for the major donor, corporate partnerships and trusts programmes: o To include systematic and efficient plans for winning support with and without warm leads o To include supporting corporate volunteer days Promote Noah s Ark Children s Hospice s fundraising campaigns, events and volunteer drives so as to support the success of other fundraising divisions at the charity Work with Finance to ensure that soft-credited income is accurately logged Work with Care to ensure that any case studies used in promotional materials are up to date and have appropriate permissions Attend internal meetings and provide updates to other team members as and when required upport the work of other fundraising divisions as and when required Where a partner wishes to restrict the funds they are raising to a specific project, co-ordinate with the Trust Fundraiser to identify suitable unfunded projects Liaise with Noah s Ark s Care Team to monitor progress on funded projects, make timely suggestions for any remedial action required, identify any potential problems, and recommend and implement actions to address these upporting Trusts Fundraiser and other colleagues by proofing their written work Promotional materials Liaise with supporters to develop case studies for Noah s Ark s website and newsletters n addition the Major Giving Fundraiser will be expected to: work within legal and charity guidelines, especially within the nstitute of Fundraising codes of practice manage and work within Noah s Ark Children s Hospice s fundraising administrative, T systems and guidelines represent Noah s Ark Children s Hospice as required and to be an ambassador for the organisation at all times undertake training and skills development and keep up to date with the changing requirements of the role undertake other duties as may be required Additional Notes: The post will involve some travel around Noah s Ark s boroughs and beyond to meet with prospective and current supporters ome home working, where appropriate, and pre-agreed with line manager, will be available This role may involve flexible working hours to include some evening and weekend work time off in lieu will be given in these instances. You will be expected to work within legal and charity guidelines, ensuring compliance with CQC and other statutory regulations Noah s Ark takes its responsibility for safeguarding the wellbeing of children seriously and this post may be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring ervice application.
