2 Role Summary Role Purpose The key purpose of this role is to contribute to the growth, development and sustainability of Women s and Girls Emrgency Centre (WAGEC) and its services through: Strengthening current and generating new income streams Raising WAGEC s profile and its work through a range of communications and promotional activities. Success Measures This is an important role within WAGEC and will contribute significantly to its development through: Level of income diversification Number of funding proposals, tenders and other fundraising initiatives Quality of external communication collateral Quality and currency of website, digital media and other promotional material Key Result Areas This role is responsible for: Funding & Development External Communication Relationship Management Organisaitonal Contribution Workplace Health & Safety Reports to: Locatation Direct Reports Status: Chief Executive Officer Redfern None Permanent full-time Classification: Level 6, Social, Home Care, Disability and Home Care Services Award 2010
3 Key Result Areas Funding & Development 1. Develop and implement an annual funding plan to create new revenue streams, identify potential corporate and philanthropic funders and other new income opportunities. 2. Monitor the external environment for opportunities to connect with potential funders and generate a prospects list. 3. Cultivate relationships with supporters to grow WAGEC s network and access to donors. 4. Draft grant and tender documents and coordinate the production of large tenders and proposals. 5. Develop individualised plans to approach donors / sponsors, foster relationships, and solicit donations and major gifts. 6. Organise and attend meetings with current and potential funders to present proposals. 7. Develop and maintain systems to track fundraising and development activities and monitor funder relationships. 8. Plan and manage a system to maintain and deepen relationships with current and past funders. External Communications 1. In conjunction with the CEO, develop and implement a communications strategy and annual plan, to effectively promote WAGEC and its work externally. 2. Identify appropriate online and offline opportunities to promote WAGEC and position it as a leader in the sector. 3. Maintain the integrity of WAGEC s brand with consistent application to communications and marketing collateral. 4. Write, implement and monitor adherence to brand guidelines to ensure consistent messaging. 5. Write content and rmaintain currency of WAGEC s website using effective online writing techniques including SEO, and report on website analytics as required. 6. Investigate and establish a presence on appropriate social media channels to effectively engage external WAGEC stakeholders and appropriate audiences. 7. Lead the development and production of collateral, including the Annual Report, engaging with external suppliers as needed. 8. Develop, maintain and grow a library of marketing resources for use by the General Manager and other staff, which promote WAGEC and its mission to its external stakeholder groups. Relationship Management 1. Identify volunteer opportunities in WAGEC, and recruit and manage volunteers through engagement with corporate partners and other community groups, complying with WAGEC volunteer policy. 2. Work with the CEO to identify networking opportunities and assist in building links with other services, government and community stakeholders, to promote WAGEC, its services and the needs of women and their families effectively. 3. In conjunction with the CEO, identify, and as required, attend relevant meetings, seminars, consultations, conferences and forums to represent WAGEC and grow professional knowledge.
4 Key Result Areas Organiational Contribution 1. Contribute to building a positive organisational culture aligned to WAGEC s vision, values and mission statement. 2. Comply with WAGEC s corporate policies and operational practices which include attending regular meetings with other staff and completing reporting and other normal day-to-day work responsibilities. 3. Participate in core learning and development activities to grow professional skills and knowledge in WAGEC s service delivery. This will require completing performance appraisals, attending workshops and training, and taking a proactive approach to career development. 4. Assist with the development, maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures for WAGEC s Policy and Procedure Manual. 5. Carry out other duties in line with the philosophy and objectives of WAGEC client services as directed by the General Manager. 6. Work with staff to ensure the quality of services by complying with operating standards, identifying and reporting quality issues, and by participating as required in issue investigations, training and other quality related activities, including audits. 7. Contribute to the continual improvement of WAGEC services, processes and management systems by identifying and reporting improvement opportunities, and participating, as required, in WAGEC projects. Workplace Health & Safety 1. Comply with WAGEC s Workplace Health and Safety management system, including policies, procedures and legislation, and identify and report issues, incidents and hazards so that WAGEC is a safe and healthy workplace. 2. Work to ensure safety by carrying out work in a safe manner; adhere to safety instructions, participating in risk assessments, incident investigation, safety training, return to work programs and other safe work activities including audits, and improvement opportunities.
5 Req Person Specification Behavioural Competencies Compassionate to the needs of women and families at-risk in the community Ability to build and maintain positive relationships across a diverse range of stakeholder groups Model constructive, collaborative, professional and positive behaviour Strong time management, prioritisation and organisation skills High degree of initiative and ability to work unsupervised under broad direction of management Creative thinker and analytical problem solver High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to learn and effectively communicate WAGEC s mission and services to a variety of external audiences. Technical Competencies Outstanding written and verbal communication. Abilities in writing grant submissions and funding propoals. Demonstrated ability to develop marketing collateral and communications to diverse audiences using online and offline channels. High degree of computer literacy in Microsoft Windows environment, in particular Word and PowerPoint. Competency in desktop publishing, including use of tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud or InDesign. Knowledge of on-line content production, including for website, social media, and online forums An understanding of SEO, Google Analytics, Adwords and other tools and promotional methods. Experience 3+ years experience with a mix of fundraising, business development,sales, marketing or communications A proven track record in developing and running successful campaigns across digital platforms to build an engaged following Experience working in the Not for Profit sector or a keen interest in a career within the sector Education Relevant tertiary level qualifications in communications, marketing or public relations, or equivalent experience

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as communications, marketing or public relations, or equivalent experience years experience with a mix of fundraising, business development, sales, marketing or communications 3. Exceptional written communication with the ability to write engaging content and persuasive proposals 4. Excellent verbal communication skills with the confidence to engage with a wide range of stakeholders in a range of settings (fundraising asks, meetings, one-on-one, presentations) 5. A proven track record in developing and running successful communications campaigns across digital platforms 6. Demonstrated ability to create marketing collateral and communications for diverse audiences using online and offline channels. 7. A creative flair and ability to think laterally 8. Strong focus on delivery, attention to detail and good work ethic 9.
