1 Position: Product Manager Full Time, Permanent Purpose of Position The role of the Product Manager assists in developing, managing and delivering the annual product management plan. They are responsible for ensuring that customer and industry needs are met through a continuous process of product design, planning and lifecycle management within the product suite that they manage. They will take responsibility of the product suite that they manage from product roadmap to organisation readiness and product/service delivery; and will work collaboratively with teams across Careerforce to drive short and long term revenue and profitability. Attend and participate in relevant meetings and training days, and provide input and collegial support to colleagues. Prepare audience-appropriate internal and external communications and reports. Ensure website information pertaining to own role and responsibilities is regularly monitored and reviewed. Manage resources effectively and efficiently. Uphold and implement relevant and required policies, procedures and systems. Lead and participate in project development. Evidence of contributions to meeting key strategic goals and annual targets to agreed standards and timeframes. Risk management plans and activities are developed and implemented. Evidence of pro-active contribution to supporting the vision, values and culture. Communications including the website are accurate, up-to-date, audience appropriate and are understood. All relevant compliance issues, policies and procedures are upheld and implemented. Project responsibilities are successfully discharged. Position Key Result Area Product Lifecycle Management Specific Activities Create Product Roadmaps which demonstrate the direction and progress for the product suite that they manage Report on market reaction and product usage along with feedback from stakeholders and any resulting changes to products Manage the product review cycle Retire products when they are no longer required Product Innovation Ideas - Work with ideas generators to harness and filter ideas and produce ideas papers for submission for approval to progress to the exploration stage Explore - Test the robustness of ideas in the context of external market conditions to ensure that it has the potential to deliver Performance Measures Roadmaps are developed which provide the reader with the information on the upcoming direction of the product Product reports provide information and recommendations to the Team Manager and the Product and Marketing Manager Products are reviewed annually, updated and retired as necessary Ideas papers are submitted for approval that provide all of the information require to make a decision An Opportunity Assessment Paper including the following are developed: o Market Analysis o Market Segmentation July 2016 Product Manager JD 2

3 significant value to a Target Market Focus - Determine how to extract value from the market and determine the return on investment for the business. Work with the ideas generator, the PMO and others to collaboratively prepare a DRAFT Business Case to further evaluate the product for the business. Product Design Immerse - Uncover deeper customer problems and goals Define Work with the ideas generator and the PMO to develop the FINAL Business Case which includes the projections for investment return and the recommendation to proceed or not. Describe the detailed product concept. Product Implementation Build - work closely with the PMO and the Development teams to develop and review new products ensuring that they are fit for purpose and meet the expectations of the sector Prepare work closely with the PMO and other teams across Careerforce to ensure that the internal business and external market is prepared for the launch of the product Health and Safety Act responsibly and proactively as required by current health and safety legislation and by: o Identifying and reporting new hazards and incidents and accidents through the HRSS (System we report into) o Competitive Review o Environmental Review o Idea Approval A Draft Business Case is developed that, includes: o Strategic Alignment o Value Model o Benefits Sizing o Draft Sales / Marketing Plan o Draft Product Concept o Risk Assessment o Recommendation to Proceed or Not The following documentation is developed to support: o Personas o User Scenarios o Task Analysis o Market Requirements A Final Business Case is developed ation includes o Product Requirements o Business Requirements The PMO has a thorough understanding of the requirements and is able to manage a project that supports the delivery of the product Product Developers have all the information required to be able to build the product solution that meets the needs of the market ation includes: o Market Strategy o Value Propositions o Product Positioning July 2016 Product Manager JD 3

4 o Undertaking health and safety training as required by management o Responding appropriately to emergency management and evacuations Person Specification Education, qualifications, training Knowledge and experience Essential A degree level qualification or equivalent experience which demonstrates your ability to analyse concepts and ideas and apply critical thinking skills. Experience in the identification of problems and solution development Experience working as part of a collaborative team as well as independently Good business acumen Skills Ability to embrace new ideas, be conceptual and innovative Experience of leading workshops to identify needs and capture requirements.
