Vlunteers It takes apprximately 50 vlunteers t run a sale s we re always lking fr new helpers. We ask that all sellers cnsider vlunteering as this can imprve the quality f the sale and s increase sales, which will benefit us all. We start at 8.00am and finish arund 3:30pm. If yu are unable t be there fr the whle day, please can yu ffer t d a shift? The early shift starts at 8:00am until 12:30pm, the later shift is frm 11:00am t 3:30pm. Thus a maximum number f vlunteers will be present during the sale itself. At ur last sale we were shrt staffed fr afternn clear-up s please vlunteer fr this if pssible. Vlunteering is generally gd fun, a great way t meet peple and des ffer sme benefits. Fr thse present fr the whle f the early shift, yu will have the chance fr pririty shpping during the mrning, befre the sale pens t the public. (Nte: late arrivals will nt be able t shp.) Fr thse present during the entirety f the late shift, we can ffer yu 5% ff yur selling cmmissins. S, if yu are a seller yu

2 will pay nly 25% cmmissin, rather than the usual 30%. If yu are able t vlunteer all day, yu will benefit frm bth pririty shpping, discunted cmmissins and lunch.

3 Charity Dnatins f Unsld Gds n-lnger available Strud Valley's nct n-lnger have an arrangement with Kid's Stuff fr cllectin f unsld items as Kid's Stuff have reached capacity in their strage facility. Please arrange fr all yur items t be cllected at the end f the sale. We are unable t wait r hld unsld items fr later cllectin as we have n strage facility r means f transprting them. Sellers failing t cllect unsld items may be fined/banned at the discretin f the cmmittee. What Can I sell?/ Quality f Items Offered fr Sale At the last 2 sales, sme items have nt been f suitable quality t be cnsidered fr a Nearly New Sale. We have quality checks in place and items that are nt cnsidered t be f Nearly New quality will be rejected frm the sale. Sellers with a large number f rejected items may be asked t restrict their fferings at future sales. The fllwing is fr yur guidance as t what is acceptable fr sale: Clthing We can sell: Gd quality clthes in clean, nearly perfect, cnditin. All types f shes can be sld must be washed/clean and in gd, lightly wrn cnditin. Please nte that whilst wellies, jellies and very gd quality shes sell many lwer quality shes are rejected r remain unsld at each sale. Birth t 11years, including schl unifrm. Maternity wear (Recgnised brands). N mre than 20 items/bundles f NEWBORN clthes please exc. cats/snwsuits we have a very large number f these items ffered fr sale, and there is nt space t accmmdate them all! We CANNOT sell: Clthes that d nt lk nearly perfect e.g.; unwashed, badly creased, stained, faded, pilled (fleeces) r generally tatty! Any children s clthing with a drawstring arund the neck. Tys We can sell: Bks, puzzles, DVD s etc. including garden and large ride-n tys. Battery perated tys must include batteries and be in full wrking rder. Items must be cmplete with n missing pieces. Please be aware that sft tys DO NOT sell well. Tys must meet the essential safety requirements fund in Annex II f the Ty Safety Directive, which cnfirms details f requirements fr physical, mechanical, chemical & electrical prperties, flammability, hygiene and radiactivity. We CANNOT sell: Any mains perated tys, Tys that d nt wrk, are brken, dirty r have pieces missing, r where detachable pieces are nt securely attached DVDs that will nt play in a UK regin machine nly unless they are clearly marked n the price label.

4 Any bicycle where the saddle height is mre than 635mm frm the grund with tyres fully inflated. Equipment We can sell: Stair-gates, cts/cribs, msses baskets, travel cts, highchairs, baby carriers, clth nappies etc. If applicable, please prvide user instructins. Bumb seats must have the harness included Mattresses can be sld prviding they have a waterprf cver (eg. PVC) with n tears, cracks r hles. Mattresses shuld be clean and dry, firm (nt sft) and nt sagging. Ventilated mattresses (the type with hles) cannt be sld as it is nt pssible t ensure that the inside is kept clean Any crib/mses basket stand must be labelled with the weight lading & size f ct which can be accmmdated. They must have a means f stpping the ct falling ff and be a max 432mm abve the flr. We CANNOT sell: Feeding bttles and breast pumps. Electrical items such as sterilisers and mnitrs bicycle helmets tiletries and fd Bag style slings - thse with a deep puch and an elasticated edge. The brands and prducts which cannt be accepted are: Infantin sling rider Bppy carry in cmfrt Premaxx baby bag Lamaze clse cmfrt Munchkin carg sling Wendy Bellissim sling Buggies & Pushchairs THESE MUST CONFORM TO BRITISH STANDARD 7409 r EN1888 AND THIS MUST BE PERMANENTLY MARKED - this is likely t be printed n a label n the fabric f the pushchair. They must include peratinal instructins securely attached t the item (handwritten is fine). TIP: Yu may find dwnladable instructins n manufacturers websites. Car Seats & Bster Seats We cannt sell any car infant r bster seat. If yu wish t sell a cmplete travel system, we will accept the pushchair withut the car seat. Yu are then welcme t attach a separate label t the pushchair stating that yu have a gd quality car seat available fr sale and that yu are prepared t sell it privately fr a suggested price f xxx. Please include yur name and telephne number. The NCT des nt accept any respnsibility fr car seats sld.

6 Hw d I label Items fr the Sale? Yu must nly use fficial labels any items with unfficial labels will be excluded frm the sale. Labels will be available fr dwnlad frm the registratin website nce yur payment has been prcessed. Yu may print as many labels as yu require frm the website. We suggest that yu print them nt card r heavyweight paper if pssible. Cut the labels and add t each label a brief descriptin f the item, age range, and price. Please fasten labels securely with safety pins, (n dressmaking pins) t clthing, r tie/tape t equipment. PLEASE ATTACH YOUR LABELS CORRECTLY Labels are remved at the cash desk by cutting, r tearing ff the right hand side. Then srted by seller number t use t add up yur takings. Please make sure that the hand-written side f the label can be easily cut ff withut damaging the item r the label. Failure t d this may mean that yur label is nt prcessed crrectly, and yu may nt receive the value f the item. Items with labels attached n the right hand side will be excluded frm the sale, as this causes real prblems and delays at the cash desk. Hw des the sale wrk? Yu can nly sell if yu have registered as an fficial seller. There is a limit t the number f sellers that can be accepted fr each sale spaces are allcated n a first cme, first served basis. Yu must deliver yur gds t Archway Schl n Sunday mrning between 8 and 8:45 am. Yur gds will then be srted and displayed by ur vlunteers. Any items incrrectly labelled r nt deemed t be f an apprpriate quality will be excluded frm the sale. We will then sell gds n yur behalf. Gds will be put ut n display in the fllwing sectins, PLEASE deliver yur items already srted int the fllwing categries: it will greatly assist the setting up prcess: Clthing: 0-3 mnths, 3-6 mnths, 6-9 mnths, 9-12 mnths, mnths, mnths, 2-3 yrs, 3-4 yrs and 5yrs+ (Please limit newbrn items t just 20 items per seller) (Clthes sell better if they are displayed n hangers (which are nn-returnable). Please grup yur clthes accrding t age grups) Large equipment, e.g. prams, travel cts (N.B. Prams have t cnfrm t the relevant standard, see abve) Smaller items, e.g. slings, reins Tys, children s and baby tys, bks, DVDs Bks pregnancy, birth and parenting bks in gd cnditin. Bedding and ther linen Maternity wear Please als bring a large cardbard bx with yur seller number written in LARGE numbers and CLEARLY n the side. This will be used fr yur unsld items at the end f the sale. This bx shuld be big enugh t take 70% f the items that yu have brught with yu (althugh we hpe t sell mre than that!). Bxes that are t small cntribute t errrs in packing unsld gds and mean that yu may nt get yurs back! If the bx yu have supplied is nt large enugh, we will supply a large canvas carrier fr yur unsld items. This csts 2 and will be deducted frm yur sale prceeds.

7 At the end f the sale we will add up the value f the gds yu have sld, NCT takes 30% f the asking price as cmmissin and yu get 70%.

8 What shuld I charge? Price t sell rather than t make mney! Cnsider what yu wuld be prepared t pay if yu were buying the item yurself. Items must be priced in multiples f 50p, s they end in 00 r 50. If yu have several smaller items e.g. vests r sleepsuits, it s sensible t fasten them tgether. Please nly use safety pins t fasten items tgether. D make sure that yu have actually written a price n all f yur items! Yu wuld be surprised at hw many d nt get priced. Items taken t the till with n price, will be priced at the till peratr s discretin in rder t facilitate a sale. What abut expensive items? We have a new prcedure fr items ver 10. If yu have any items t sell priced 10 r ver, please use the frm at the end f this seller pack. On here yu shuld list the items and the price that yu are asking. When delivering yur items t the sale, please take these items tgether with yur frm t the 10 plus hlding area where they will be lgged and prcessed by ur vlunteers befre the sale. The frm can be used in the case f queries abut expensive items at the sale and is a safeguard fr bth yu, the seller and us, the nct. When will I get paid? Payment will be made by BACS direct t yur bank accunt within 2 weeks f the sale. We will yu at the end f the sale with details f the number f items that yu have sld and the amunt f yur prceeds. Yu may cllect the ticket stubs frm yur sld items at the end f the sale when yu return t cllect yur unsld gds. Cllectin f Unsld Items: Please return between 3:00pm-3:15pm n Sunday afternn prmpt t cllect yur unsld items. WE HAVE NO FACILITIES TO STORE ITEMS FOR LATER COLLECTION. Seller N shw: Failure t use seller s pack Please be advised that demand fr the seller s packs is very high and we need t limit the number f sellers. If fr any reasn yu are unable t use yur sellers pack please the Nearly New Sales team immediately (ideally at least a week befre the sale) s that yur sale pack can be ffered t the waiting list: nns.strudvalleys@nct.rg.uk. Please d nt use the facebk grup t ntify us if yu cannt use yur sellers pack. Sellers pack fees are refunded at ur discretin and may nt be refunded if we cannt fill yur place. If yu d nt use yur seller s pack (i.e. yu d nt turn up t the sale) we will have t implement a tw-sale ban frm the next tw sales. The seller will then be n prbatin fr 24 mnths after the ban. If anther failure t sell ccurs during this time perid we will need t implement a mre severe penalty. We are very reluctant t have t implement such rules hwever at the last sale we had several n-shws and a waiting list fr sellers packs. Needless t say, thse n the waiting list wh were unable t sell were very unhappy abut the n shws.
