1 Position Title Regional Manager, International Student Recruitment Position No Department Faculty/Centre Classification Salary Range Prepared By International Education International Education & Business Development Non-Executive Officer (NEO) $110,000 p.a. pro rata Associate Director, International Education Date March 2018 Reference No Approved By Associate Director, Human Resources Primary Objectives of Position Working closely with the Associate Director, International Education and other internal and external stakeholders, the Regional Manager, International Student Recruitment is responsible for: 1. Contributing towards and leading the planning and development of the Institute s country specific market development plans and student recruitment strategies. 2. Leading and developing new as well as nurturing existing business partnerships and relationships with education agent networks, career advisors and government departments that provide intelligence and guidance on policy and procedures as they relate to international student recruitment and admissions. 3. Leadership in developing and implementing integrated strategies that operationalizing the country specific market development plans for commercial success ensuring student enrolment targets are met. A key focus of this role is influencing annual revenue targets. 4. Leadership in ensuring an integrated approach to the design and development of country specific marketing and promotional materials and campaigns that aligns to brand and strategy and is targeted to achieve student recruitment and enrolment goals. 5. 2 the country specific markets associated to the role. 6. Establish and maintain a safe work environment that is compliant with Holmesglen OH&S policies and procedures for the Faculty/ Department. Internal Communication Requirements Executive staff Faculty Deans Heads of Departments (HODs) Heads of Administrative Departments (HOADs) International Centre staff External Communication Requirements Specific Accountabilities Education agents Government departments both Commonwealth and State Partner institutions External service providers Working closely with the Associate Director, International Education and other Regional Managers: 1. Lead the development, planning and implementation of the country specific market development plans, and associated strategies to achieve budgeted country specific international student growth targets. 2. Design integrated marketing campaigns to targeted countries to drive student choice and acquisition. 3. Manage country specific marketing promotions and campaigns, ensuring growth targets are met within budget and quality parameters. 4. Ensure all promotional and campaign materials are compliant to brand guidelines, regulatory requirements whilst culturally and socially accepted in target markets. 5. Review, report and track progress of campaign activities. 6. Ensure promotional and campaign activities drive optimal customer experience. 7. Inform recruitment targets by country based on relevant market intelligence. 8. Develop and implement integrated training and targeted information services to country specific agent networks relating to admissions and student support in order for 2

3 prospective students to make informed course choices when enrolling at Holmesglen. 9. Develop and deliver integrated and innovative communication campaigns that are country specific and promote Holmesglen programs in order to capitalise achieving international student growth targets. 10. Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Holmesglen Management System, legislation and relevant external bodies. 11. Build new and nurture existing relationships with country specific agent networks, government agencies and partner institutions to enhance the Institute s International profile and its capacity to recruit international students. 12. Cultivate productive and collaborative working relationships through open and inclusive planning, continuous information sharing and transparent work practices. 13. Act in accordance with Holmesglen s safety policies and procedures to ensure the Faculty/Department is compliant with OH&S legislation. 14. Ensure the Faculty/Department/Centre is compliant with Holmesglen's policy and procedure in relation to the Child Safety Standards. Qualifications Minimum Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business or related discipline. Preferred Postgraduate qualifications in management, leadership or business development. Knowledge Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of all sectors of the Australian education system including excellent understanding of the opportunities and challenges as they present and trends within international education sector. Knowledge of education systems in other countries. Knowledge of Australian Government and other competitor countries regulation and policy relating to student visa programs. A sound knowledge of courses, international admissions requirements and processes as well as a thorough understanding of academic and non-academic support services that are essential to informed course choices and an enhanced student experience at Holmesglen. 3

4 Experience Substantial experience in international education sector. Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive integrated country specific marketing plans, communications, strategy formulation and implementation. Substantial experience working with international student recruitment across a range of countries or similar strategic operational context. Demonstrated experience liaising effectively with a diverse range of high level and multicultural stakeholders. Extensive experience in developing and optimising marketing and promotional campaigns, communications, strategy formulation and implementation. Demonstrated ability to manage performance, work targets, critical deadlines and work outputs. Ability to research and provide professional reports to inform future strategies. Skills Strategic, analytic and creative thinking with advanced communication, collaboration and leadership skills. Ability to analyse the achievements of programs managed within the position utilising market research to measure and report on the effectiveness of activities. Excellent presentation, interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to convey complex information to stakeholders of diverse backgrounds. Sophisticated cross cultural understanding and intelligence with an awareness and demonstrated ability to work and represent an organisation in diverse countries and to deliver project outcomes to the satisfaction of clients in different countries and cultures. Leadership and highly developed planning and work organisation skills. Key Selection Criteria 1. Extensive experience in marketing, sales and international student recruitment and admissions as well as sophisticated cross cultural understanding and awareness and demonstrated ability to work and represent an organisation in diverse countries, and to deliver outcomes to the satisfaction of clients in different countries and cultures. Adaptability for extensive travel overseas in diverse countries and cultures. 2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including: the ability to convey complex information, negotiate with diverse stakeholders including diverse government agencies such as Austrade and the Victorian Government to achieve outcomes, highly developed 4

5 presentation skills and the ability to maintain productive relationships. 3. Excellent analytical and conceptual ability in relation to review of systems, services and activities, development of service improvement strategies, provision of analytical input to market development plans and activities. 4. Highly developed planning and organisation skills with experience in establishing priorities, implementing improvements and meeting targets and deadlines. 5. Experience working within complex customer-focused environments and within cross-functional teams to successfully meet the objectives of the position. 6. Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of a senior management team as well as ability to exercise high levels of independence, judgement and initiative. 7. Demonstrated relationship management and consulting skills, including the ability to interact with, negotiate and gain cooperation for a culturally diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Note The Incumbent may be required to perform his/her duties at any campus or location controlled by Holmesglen Institute or elsewhere as directed. Holmesglen is a child safe organisation.
