1 Technical Business Analyst Ark Ark is a fast growing children s charity seeking to establish an outstanding network of inner city academies. We currently operate 31 academies, across 4 regions, with several more under development. We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst to support our central office in Kingsway, Holborn, London and our academies. Working with key stakeholders (central office, academies, and Civica, Ark's outsourced IT Service Delivery partner) the successful candidate will translate functional system requirements into technical implementation specifications. They will manage the implementation of any new IT projects as well as providing assistance in the ongoing project management of the Office 365 and ArkNet platform. Additionally, the Technical Business Analyst will maintain the Salesforce CRM that is used by a range of teams across the Ark central office. The ideal candidate will be self- motivated, resilient and have a strong can-do attitude with the ability to work calmly and pragmatically under pressure. They will be a confident communicator and be an effective coach and developer of others.

3 Job Description: Technical Business Analyst Salary: 50,000-60,000 Start date: ASAP Reports to: Transition Lead Overview of the role Ark requires an individual to provide: Technical Requirements Gathering - working with Ark central / Ark schools to translate functional system requirements into technical implementation specifications. IT Project Management relating to management of the implementation of IT projects and the management of relationships with implementing third parties. Assistance in the ongoing Project Management of the O365/ArkNet platform. Co-ordination of internal stakeholders and third party developers to maintain the Salesforce CRM solution that is used by a range of teams across Ark s central office Key areas of responsibility Technical Business Analysis Gather functional business requirements from operating functions in the central office. Put forward, discuss and agree design choices Produce functional specifications Derive technical specifications from Functional specifications Produce requirement specifications from System specifications in conjunction with the Procurement and Contract manager Assist in the issue of RFPs and the due diligence of tender submissions from 3rd parties Technical Project Management Ensure all Stakeholders are properly and fully engaged with implementation projects. Robustly manage all aspects of project progress Communicate project status updates to appropriate Senior Management Team(s)
4 Communicate project status updates to relevant Stakeholders CRM (Salesforce) Technical Lead Engage with all users of Salesforce applications. Understand current use of Salesforce and gather application/enhancement requirements. Lead on-boarding of new teams wishing to use the Salesforce solution. Manage implementation of Salesforce enhancements. Technology Strategy Development Generally assist with Ark s evolving Technology Strategy. Key relationships 1. Data venture Support for ensuring that the Ark IT solution works as required with the requirements of Ark s new data venture. Link with business units at Ark regarding non-core systems developed by the data venture in the past that now need to be replaced, and leadership of research (working with Ark business units) into suitable replacements. 2. Ark central functional entities Business Analysis for creating functional specifications for required Systems (new or as enhancements) Supplier selection and support for Procurement/Tender processes. Project Management Salesforce application design/enhancement requirements analysis and implementation 3. Procurement (Operations) Know-how and experience of specifying and acquiring technical Systems.
5 4. Technical Assurance (Operations) Robust Project Management methodologies (e.g.: ITIL) 5. Ark Schools Capacity to assist Schools with the management of 3rd party suppliers relating to Systems or Technology implementation projects. Robust Project Management methodologies (e.g.: ITIL) 6. Civica An interface as to Ark Technology strategy. An interface to the Ark Program Office (TBA).
6 Person Specification: Technical Business Analyst Qualification Criteria Holds a Project Management certification Desirable: Qualified to Degree level Qualified to work in the UK Experience and Knowledge Experience of managing (Project Management) technical software projects with external suppliers and internal (Head Office and Schools) stakeholders Experience of collecting and documenting software system functional requirements Experience of writing system specifications and issuing Requests for Proposals to external suppliers Experience of evaluating technical tenders and selecting suppliers Experience of working with schools to understand, evaluate and advise on technical requirements Experience of the Salesforce environment and designing and enhancing Salesforce applications Knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 environment Experience (desirable but not essential) of the use of IT to support Teaching and Learning Skills and abilities Self-motivated An effective coach and developer of others Excellent communication and presentation skills Understands the importance of delivering to Stakeholders Ability to consider both the detail and the bigger picture Strong political nous and ability to exercise and communicate sound judgment Effective time management and organizational skills Able to work well under pressure Demonstrates a strong can-do attitude A problem-solver Committed to high standards Performance orientated - sets and achieves high standards for self and others
