In 2016, UKA was the second largest onshore developer in Germany (according to Energie & Management magazine s developer ranking), having added 200 MW of capacity to the grid. 333 WIND TURBINES As a full-service provider, the Group offers all services including the handover of a turnkey wind farm. After handover, its subsidiary UKB Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen Betriebsführung GmbH will ensure your turbines perform at their technical and commercial best in the coming decades. The UKA Group currently employs around 450 people in Meißen, Cottbus, Rostock, Lohmen (in Mecklenburg), Erfurt, Oldenburg, Bielefeld, Hannover and Grebenstein (near Kassel). UKA has an office in Stuart, FL (USA) since 2017, where it works with its American partners and experienced staff members to implement promising wind energy and photovoltaic projects in the USA. 6 HISTORY TWO DECADES tailwind for the energy revolution UKA puts the world s first Vestas V136 into operation The turbine in Lieskau (Brandenburg) is the 333th wind turbine installed by UKA. Operations begin on the American continent A planning office is opened in Stuart, FL (US). UKA is the second-largest wind farm developer in Germany According to a ranking of project developers by industry magazine Energie & Management, the UKA Group occupies 2nd place with an installed capacity of 204 MW. UKA expands nationwide Over the course of two years, UKA sets up new offices in Erfurt, Hannover, Oldenburg and Bielefeld. First repowering project Four turbines with a nominal output of 900 kw are replaced by three wind turbines of the 3 MW class at the Möglenz wind farm in the Elbe-Elster district (Brandenburg). First forest wind energy project The first wind energy projects located in the forest is implemented at the Calau- Schadewitz wind farm in Brandenburg. Rostock and Cottbus offices opened The developer UKA Projektträger is set up in Lohmen in Mecklenburg to complement the two project development companies. Foundation of the administrative head office The head office in Meißen supports all of the Group s project development companies. LANDOWNERS More and more landowners are benefiting from the energy revolution. By leasing their farmland and pasture they are creating an additional source of income for themselves and their families. Since wind turbines take up relatively little space, the surrounding fields can continue to be cultivated. There are suitable parcels of land almost everywhere in Germany not only in fields, but also in forests and on former landfill and recultivated mining sites. Landowners who work with UKA bear no risks in terms of liability or dismantling. In addition to an exemption from liability the lessor receives a dismantling guarantee for the wind turbine, its foundations and the accompanying infrastructure. RESIDENTS AND COMMUNITIES The energy revolution is the project of the century. It is supported by communities and residents throughout Germany. Quite rightly, they no longer wish to have the burdens of energy projects simply imposed on them they also want the opportunity to actively participate in local value creation. UKA is the largest wind farm developer in Germany and takes this into account during all phases of planning and setting up the wind farm. Communities and their residents can work together with UKA and benefit financially and economically from the collaboration. This not only provides an extra source of revenue, but also creates independence for the future. UKA offers various resident participation schemes depending on the needs of each community, such as energy cooperatives, savings pools and even direct limited partnerships.

INVESTORS UKA regularly sells turn-key onshore wind farms to institutional investors, investment funds, insurance providers and suppliers. The company has enjoyed particularly strong growth in the last three years, during which UKA has added over 500 MW of wind energy to the grid. In the same three years, UKA has put several forest wind farms into operation, affording it considerable expertise in this area.
