We are currently accepting applications for two levels of experience: Engineer 5 years of experience required Senior Engineer 8-10 years of experience required Engineer - To design, plan, or perform engineering duties in waste water treatment, water permitting, spill prevention, control, and counter measure remediation of environmental health hazards utilizing various engineering disciplines. Work may include waste treatment, site remediation, pollution control technology, landfill, and environmental project management. Senior Engineer - To lead, design, plan, or perform expert engineering project management of EPA programs including but not limited to: spill prevention, control, and counter measure, site remediation, waste treatment, pollution control technology, landfill management and environmental project management. Key Responsibilities ENGINEER - DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare, review, and update environmental investigation, corrective action, and recommendation reports. Waste water permitting, waste water treatment experience Collaborate with environmental scientists, planners, hazardous

2 waste technicians, engineers, and other specialists, and experts in law and business to address environmental problems. Obtain, update, and maintain plans, permits, and standard operating procedures. Provide technical-level support for environmental remediation and litigation projects, including remediation system design and determination of regulatory applicability. Monitor progress of environmental improvement programs. Inspect plant facilities and environmental programs in order to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Develop proposed project objectives and targets, and report to management on progress in attaining them. Advise the company and government agencies of procedures to follow in cleaning up spill sites in order to protect people and the environment. Inform company employees and other interested parties of environmental issues. Assess the existing or potential environmental impact of land use projects on air, water, and land. Assist in budget implementation, forecasts, and administration. Develop site-specific health and safety protocols, such as spill contingency plans and methods for loading and transporting ash, oil, and waste. Coordinate and manage environmental protection programs and projects, assigning and evaluating work. Serve as a liaison with plant facilities and company officials on issues pertaining to solid and hazardous waste program requirements. Design systems, processes, and equipment for control, management, and remediation of water, air, and soil quality. Prepare hazardous waste manifests and land disposal restriction notifications. Serve on teams conducting multimedia inspections at plant facilities. Develop and present environmental compliance training or orientation sessions. Maintain, write, and revise environmental documentation and procedures for generation and transmission facilities. Develop scope of work for environmental projects. Provide environmental engineering assistance in regulatory analysis, and planning or reviewing database development. SENIOR ENGINEER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, prepare, review, and update environmental investigation, corrective action, and recommendation reports. Lead, develop and provide environmental engineering for planning, regulatory analysis, and recommending environmental and economic direction for compliance. Collaborate with environmental scientists, planners, hazardous waste technicians, engineers, and other specialists, and experts in

3 law and business to address environmental problems. Prepare engineering options and provide engineering recommendation as a resolution to environmental concern, both from an environmental and economic perspective. Obtain, update, and maintain plans, permits, and standard operating procedures. Provide lead technical-level support for environmental remediation and litigation projects, including remediation system design and determination of regulatory applicability. Develop, monitor and lead continuous environmental improvement programs. Lead Inspection of plant facilities and environmental programs in order to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Develop and lead projects; propose project objectives and targets, perform oversight and project management, report to management on progress and successfully manage projects through contract closure process on target, on time and on budget. Advise the company and government agencies of procedures to follow in cleaning up spill sites in order to protect people and the environment. Inform company employees and other interested parties of environmental issues. Assess the existing or potential environmental impact of land use projects on air, water, and land. Assist in budget implementation, forecasts, and administration. Develop site-specific health and safety protocols, such as spill contingency plans and methods for loading and transporting ash, oil, and waste. Coordinate and manage environmental protection programs and projects, assigning and evaluating work through use of the Environmental Management System (Dakota) and if needed, for projects greater than $1 million and up, the use of professional project management software. Serve as a liaison with plant facilities and company officials on issues pertaining to solid and hazardous waste program requirements. Design systems, processes, and equipment for control, management, and remediation of water, air, and soil quality. Prepare hazardous waste manifests and land disposal restriction notifications. Serve on teams conducting multimedia inspections at plant facilities. Develop and present environmental compliance training or orientation sessions. Maintain, write, and revise environmental documentation and procedures for generation and transmission facilities. Develop scope of work for environmental projects. Responsible for training and development of less experienced engineers. Develops written testimony and provides oral testimony in legal and

4 regulatory settings as required. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Key Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. Experience: Five (5) years of related experience. (Engineer) Eight - 10 years related experience (Sr. Engineer) Skills and Abilities: Water Permitting experience Waste Water Treatment experience Knowledge of state and federal EPA regulations and their application to the utility industry Technical knowledge of power plant environmental systems and processes. Highly proficient in creating technical reports for EKPC staff and federal, state, and local officials. Able to understand and relate technical readings and regulations. Must be able to effectively use Microsoft office applications Working Conditions: Must have a valid driver's license. Varying environmental conditions including office, plant and occasionally outside. These conditions include: dust and fumes on a regular basis; and occasional heat, cold, heights, slippery or unstable surfaces, uneven terrain, glare/improper illumination. Regular lifting up to 20 lbs. Regular travel within the system and occasional out-of-state, which may be overnight.
