Prperty lcatin: Prtin 169, 170, 173 and 174 f the farm Rietfntein 189 IQ, situated within the Mgale City Municipality. Crdinates f the Prperty Access Rad: Latitude: 26 2'23.98"S Lngitude: 27 53'38.35"E The site falls within the jurisdictin f the Gauteng Department f Agriculture and Rural Develpment (GDARD) and Department f Water and Sanitatin (DWS). The develper is planning t cnstruct a waterpark n Prtins 169, 170, 173 and 174 f the farm Rietfntein 189 IQ. The site is situated east and adjacent t Lake View Drive and west and adjacent t Valley Drive, in the Muldersdrift area. Access is easiest gained fr Mulderdrift Rad, via Valley Drive. All cmments will be captured, cnsidered and incrprated int the relevant impact assessment reprts. As a registered Interested and Affected Parties (I&AP), yu will receive updates and be prvided with pprtunity t cmment at the varius phases f the prject prcess. Parties wishing t register as I&APs, wh wish t participate by cntributing cmments, r require additinal infrmatin, shuld register and/r submit their cntact details and crrespndence in writing t Prism EMS, using the attached Cmment Sheet. Natinal Water Act, 1998 (NWA), 1998 (Act N. 36 f 1998) Sectin 21 water uses f the NWA include: (a) taking water frm a water resurce; (b) string water; (c) impeding r diverting the flw f water in a watercurse; (d) engaging in a stream flw reductin activity cntemplated in sectin 36; (g) Dispsal f waste (i.e. effluent frm sewage wrks) in a manner which may detrimentally impact n a water resurce; (i) altering the bed, banks, curse r characteristic f a watercurse; and (k) using water fr recreatinal purpses. 4 Public Participatin Prcess The key bjective f Public Participatin is t assist stakehlders t identify issues f cncern and suggestins fr enhanced benefits, and t cmment at varius phases f the applicatin prcess. The Public Participatin Prcess is an integral part f the impact assessment and is undertaken in the fllwing systematic apprach by the Prpnent/ EAP: 1. Applicatin Phase Identify and ntify ptential I&APs f the prpsed develpment and prvide an pprtunity t register within the 30 day ntificatin perid. Submit applicatin fr Envirnmental Authrisatin (EA) t GDARD after the ntificatin perid. GDARD t acknwledge receipt f applicatin within 10 days f submissin f the EA applicatin. Infrmatin available t I&APs: Newspaper Advertisement; Site Ntices; Written Ntificatin and/r BID. An I&AP Register will be pened and maintained t recrd I&APs parties that wish t be invlved. Any cmments, respnses, and/r enquiries frm the ntificatin phase will be recrded in the cmments and respnse reprt and maintained thrughut the prcess. 2. Scping Phase Applicant/EAP t submit Scping Reprt t GDARD within 44 days (inclusive f 30 day cmment perid) f acceptance f the applicatin fr Envirnmental Authrisatin. GDARD 1 t acknwledge receipt within 10 days f submissin f the Scping Reprt. GDARD t accept/refuse the scping reprt and plan f study within 43 days f receipt f the Scping Reprt. Public will receive 30 days t give Cmment n scping reprt. Any cmments, respnses, and/r enquiries frm the ntificatin phase will be recrded in the cmments and respnse reprt and maintained thrughut the prcess. 3. Envirnmental Impact Assessment Phase EAP t submit the EIA Reprt within 106 days (inclusive f 30 day cmment perid) f acceptance f the Scping Reprt. GDARD t acknwledge receipt within 10 days f submissin f the EIA Reprt. Public will receive 30 days t give Cmment n EIA reprt 4. Envirnmental Authrisatin Decisin and Appeal Phase GDARD t make a decisin t refuse/grant authrisatin within 107 days f receipt f the EIA Reprt. GDARD t ntify Applicant/EAP f the decisin within 5 days f making a decisin. EAP/Applicant t ntify I&APs within 14 days receipt f the decisin frm the GDARD.
