1 Job Title: Director of Clubhouse Hospitality Club: Greensboro Country Club Location: Greensboro, NC Director of Clubhouse Hospitality Profile: Greensboro Country Club An amazing opportunity exists for candidates with a successful track record of leadership and high quality operations management in private clubs or high end establishments in the hospitality industry. We are conducting the Director of Clubhouse Hospitality search for the oldest, private and yet progressive country club in North Carolina. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a high-performing team with exceptional abilities. The position will prepare the candidate for their next career phase, i.e. Assistant General Manager or GM/COO. Areas of Responsibilities Front of House Service Operations House Services Security Aquatics & Youth Activities Locker Rooms Key Attributes and Areas of Focus The successful Director of Clubhouse Hospitality will demonstrate: Effective team building and leadership skills Strong planning and administrative skills including budget & P&L management Training and management development experience A high aptitude for attentiveness to member services and satisfaction Superior communication skills, exuding energy, creativity and respect 100% buy-in into our Best in Class culture at GCC The confidence to remain calm and poised in dynamic situations Performance Expectations Be the primary coordinator of food and beverage and clubhouse budgeting, hiring, training, orientations and teammate culturization, and supervision of associates. Develop and enhance consistent on boarding and training programs for all food service personnel and clubhouse operations, working as necessary with the managers directly responsible for those operations; Have a passion and aptitude for teaching and training. Conduct and/or oversee training programs for food service and clubhouse operations to include service techniques, knowledge of menu items and daily/nightly specials, sanitation, team building and conflict resolution; and regularly test and evaluate associate knowledge and understanding of these expectations. Be an active and dynamic recruiter of team members, as well as someone who inherently enjoys developing and building his/her team and leading them to significant, positive membership and guest satisfaction outcomes; a collaborative team player who is hands on when necessary, but understands when to step back and lead the team. Be a focused and consistent evaluator of personnel, ensuring that adopted standards of conduct and delivery are met; Oversee high standards of appearance, hospitality, service, and cleanliness of the facilities.

2 Ensure that associates understand and have clear performance expectations, and that necessary tasks are reasonable, well-conceived and appropriately conveyed. Provide resources necessary to allow employees to perform their jobs effectively and create an exceptional ambience for members and guests. Establish and consistently enhance quantity and quality operating standards for personnel in areas of responsibility, and consistently evaluates their knowledge, understanding, and execution to these standards. Hold weekly staff meetings with direct reports to keep them informed of necessary and relevant activities and expectations at the Club. Ensure effective and efficient staffing and scheduling for all facilities and functions, balancing financial appropriateness with member and guest satisfaction desires. Involve associates in the decisions of how work gets done and creates a work environment where people want to come to work every day. Work closely with the Executive Chef to facilitate the strong relationship between kitchen and restaurant departments. Have responsibility over all beverage inventories and purchases. Develop and monitor plans, budgets, and procedures to provide direction and controls for food and beverage operations; and direct corrective action procedures as necessary to help assure that budget goals are attained. Clearly understand the financial metrics for successful attainment of goals and objectives in F&B operations, and consistently review these expectations with his or her direct reports to ensure understanding and buy-in from those contributing to their attainment. Have a strong and highly visible and respectful presence with the membership and guests, be an exceptional communicator, have adroit personal interactive skills and the maturity to instinctively know how to treat member and guests with a high-level of service; Must be able to communicate these expectations to staff with diverse backgrounds and positively motivate them to understand and execute to those expectations. Have a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness, while also maintaining quality and integrity of the plan. Work with General Manager to recommend strategies that will achieve the goal of consistently providing outstanding dining for members and guests. Be responsive to members and guests requests for menu selections, event planning, etc., and strive to find creative ways to accommodate reasonable member/guest requests; believe in the service philosophy: the answer is yes, now what is the question? Assist in planning and is ultimately responsible to ensure that special club events are well-conceived and executed; oversee all banquet and social functions, including member/guest sponsored events. Develop interesting and innovative ways of promoting GCC events and activities; Use relevant marketing techniques to drive member/guest usage of food and beverage operations, assuring member and guest needs and desires are consistently met and often exceeded. Ensure compliance with all health and safety, liquor consumption, and other food and beverage regulations; Keep current on all matters pertaining to the food and beverage industry. Recommend and uphold expectations for dress, decorum and other service personnel and consistently monitor for adherence. Take personal ownership of his or her area of responsibility, being especially aware of the overall presentation of the operation and the need to be consistently member/guest ready in both appearance and service.

3 Candidate Qualifications Is a passionate leader with strong leadership credentials and a proven track record of inspiring and providing Platinum-level services in a hospitality or membership constituency setting, and with a personality that is commensurately appropriate to deliver Raving Fan experiences Has exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Good judgment and sound decision making skills, and a strategic approach to problem solving, resolving issues in a timely manner. Is a confident, proactive team builder who has a history of attracting, developing, and retaining a high performing team Has an intuitive style resulting in a sincere and visibly engaged presence with members and staff; a true people person. Has a fundamental understanding of what constitutes a premier hospitality experience, and the proven ability to execute to that level. Is a friendly, outgoing personality with a sense of humor and a positive attitude; is personable with member/guests while maintaining a respectful professionalism. Is able to manage his or her time and establish priorities, to which he or she is accountable to execute against. Has excellent knowledge of multi-dimensional a la carte dining and banquet services. Has strong technology skills, including knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and POS systems; Candidate must be personally capable and comfortable with technology and incorporate its use, as appropriate in his/her everyday role, while never losing sight of the need for high touch relations with members/guests and team members. Has a broad knowledge of U.S. and International wine appellations, vineyards, and wineries, as well as an understanding and talent for wine and beer food pairings. Also has the ability and interest to share that knowledge and enthusiasm with staff. Educational Requirements A Bachelor s Degree from a four-year university or college is highly desirable, preferably in Hospitality Management. In lieu of the degree, substantial high-end, private club, resort, or hospitality experience will be considered. Food and Beverage Operations At Greensboro Country Club, good taste is never in question. Members indulge in an enticing array of dining venues and menus specially prepared by their renowned Chefs. The club has revenues in excess of $4 million in total F&B sales and $1.85 million in private events. Considering its present prestige and reputation, Greensboro Country Club had a most humble origin. The year was 1909 and golf was a game that interested very few men and no women. Mr. McAlister opened up a fivehole pitch and putt course on the northwest corner of Summit Avenue and Dewey Street south of St. Leo s Hospital. There was no membership in Mr. McAlister s Club and anyone could play free of charge. Those first hardy golfers 105 years ago hung their jackets on the limbs of a young water oak tree before teeing off. Some referred to the tree as "The Club House." Two years later the first clubhouse was built which was located a few steps from the water oak tree and cost the magnificent sum of $ Our current main Clubhouse located on Sunset Drive was built in 1975 and is nestled in the heart of Irving Park. In 1969, Greensboro Country Club merged with the Carlson Farm Country Club and added many additional offerings for the membership including another 18-hole golf course, swimming pool and additional tennis courts. The Farm clubhouse which was constructed in 1975 after fire destroyed the original, was redesigned and
