1 PGA Career Services is pleased to notify you about the following employment opportunity based on the information in your CareerLinks profile General Manager JOHNSON CITY COUNTRY CLUB Johnson City, Tennessee About the Club: Johnson City Country Club, established in 1913, offers an 18-hole Tillinghast designed golf course, tennis courts, swimming pools, and gourmet dining facility to members. It is a nonprofit organization and is spread over an area of more than 200-acres. The club organizes fund-raising golf tournaments and tennis events. It also provides training lessons to members and has a pro shop offering quality merchandise and accessories. The dining services include lunch and dinner buffets, ballroom and dining rooms. The Club offers various activities that including weekly dining specials, monthly gourmet and holiday cookout events, card playing, dance and cooking lessons, and an entertainment center. The club offers its services for wedding receptions, business meetings, golf outings and social functions. Dining The Johnson City Country Club offers informal dining to members Tuesday through Sunday. Lunch is served Tuesday-Sunday 11-3, and a dinner menu is available Thursday-Saturday 5-9pm. 19th Hole The 19th Hole is the best place to unwind after a long day at work or just to grab a drink and a meal with your friends after a great round. With seating to accommodate both large and small groups this make a great place for a quick gathering. Roan Room Located just to the back of the 19th Hole sits a more formal dining room we call the Roan Room. Our Salad Bar and Soups are located at the front of the room. This is a wonderful room for hosting small groups when you want more privacy.

2 Club 1913 Our newest feature to the club is located in what is formally known as the Lancaster Room. Club 1913 features a new atmosphere, new menu as well as 5 flat screen TV's. Tennis The Johnson City Country Club Tennis Program offers great indoor and outdoor facilities as well as a Pro Shop located above the outdoor courts and a covered terrace. The indoor facility has 2 hard courts with a state of the art lighting system. The lighted outdoor facility has 2 hard courts and 3 clay courts. There is a covered terrace with a large seating area with tables and chairs overlooking the outdoor courts. Swimming The Club has an Olympic size multi-lane pool, diving pool with 3 diving boards and a high dive. The pool area has a swimming pavilion with changing rooms and lockers. There is a poolside snack bar along with the Deep End Café which is a full service menu. Position Description: The General Manager is responsible for the overall management of the golf club and facility encompassing golf operations, course maintenance, sales and marketing, membership service, swimming, tennis, food and beverage operations and general administration. Key areas of responsibility include: Providing a high level of consistent service to members and guests. Responsible for the day to day leadership of the facility providing clear direction to all department heads. Communicate and monitor the comprehensive objectives of the operation and be available, approachable and display leadership by example to others. Responsible for achieving the highest possible service standards on a daily basis to ensure consistency, product quality, and promote customer confidence and loyalty. Works closely with the marketing staff in the development and implementation of the annual marketing plan and initiates necessary adjustments throughout the year to maximize the benefit of the marketing efforts. Oversee the development, completion and implementation of the annual operating budget for each department. Responsible for ensuring the best possible financial performance of the facility by monitoring daily operations and the total revenues and expenses of each department. Enforce and ensure policies and procedures of the facility are applied in an equal and fair manner for all employees and guests, in all departments. Recommend and/or establish policy and procedural changes as appropriate to support the goals of the operation, ownership and management. Establish methods of interdepartmental communication to include weekly staff meetings of the department heads and or an appropriate representative of each department. Responsible for ensuring all new employees complete new hire orientation and receive departmental training specific to their related job function. Promotes safety awareness for all departments through continual training to ensure a safe and productive work environment.

3 Shall ensure that the general upkeep of the building structures and other assets of the facility are in good repair and arrange for all necessary repair work or preventative maintenance to be performed as appropriate in an expeditious manner. Ensures the overall cleanliness of the facility at the highest possible level. Ensures that all permits, licenses, fees, taxes, assessments, and/or regulations of a governmental agency of jurisdiction are in compliance with the federal, state and local requirements. Represents the facility in various community functions in a way that supports the overall objectives of the owner. Cooperate in performing any other duty deemed reasonable and necessary by the owner. Interpreting and enforcing The Rules of Golf and club policies. Attend staff and management meetings as required. Adheres to federal, state and local laws regarding safety, health and employment regulation. Promotes ad positive, interactive and team oriented service culture for all golf employees. Skills: He/she must be a compelling and self-assured leader with a proven ability to attract, develop, and mentor a high preforming staff. Ideal candidate will have a personal style that is approachable and congenial, allowing them to be well received and accessible to a diverse group of members with varying dispositions and golf acumen. Commanding respect as a fair-minded individual of high personal integrity within the club and in the broader golf industry is an essential trait for this position. Excellent inter personal skills that will enable incumbent to develop strong member relationships. Strong written and oral communication skills. Good understanding of Club Operations budgeting and accounting. Able to communicate effectively and professionally in both verbal and written formats. Able to perform arithmetic computations for budgeting and cost analysis. Experience / Qualifications: Including, but not limited to, the following: Candidate should have no less than eight years of management experience. The successful candidate will have experience and demonstrated achievement in the managerial and technical skills necessary to maintain and enhance the performance of the club s operations. Must have experience working at a private country club. A proven track record of strong budgetary and operational management skills with significant experience in recruiting, staffing and training, as well as overseeing a large operation. Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Experienced in written and oral business communications. College education or its equivalent. Continuing education training through PGA or CMAA. Experience as general manager required. Compensation and Benefits The club will provide a compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications This includes but not limited to: Competitive base salary
